I’ve loved and cared for animals my entire life! I grew up on a farm in west michigan, where I learned from an early age how to care for all kinds of animals, including providing basic medical care when needed. From ages 6–19, I trained and showed dogs through 4-H, giving me years of hands-on experience with dog training, handling, grooming, and behavior. Growing up, I also regularly dog- and cat-sat for family and friends, and I’ve owned dogs and cats for most of my adult life, so caring for them truly comes naturally to me. As a parent to a child with a disability who absolutely loves animals—especially dogs—I’ve developed an incredible amount of patience, attentiveness, and compassion. My experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) also closely complements the positive reinforcement, consistency, and behavior-focused training I practiced for years through 4-H. I understand how difficult it can be to leave your pets in someone else’s care. As both a dog and human parent and a lifelong animal lover, I know you want someone who will treat your pets like family, give them plenty of love and attention, and make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.
