I've been around dogs since I was a baby. My family had German Shepards or mixed. When I graduated from college, I rescued my first dog a Shepard mix puppy from the pound and a few years later a Collie/Lab mix. Later my ex add a Boxer to our mix. Our dogs are considered family and not just pets. My dogs were considered the first "grandkids". My dogs were my children and companions. Both my "babies" passed away from natural causes. It's been 2 years since my 2nd "baby" passed. They are missed greatly. I miss my outdoor and walking companions. My sister brings here Shepard when she visits. I enjoy playing outside and running with him. It makes me want a dog again but I'm not sure I'm ready. I do know I love dogs. I love being around them, cuddling with them, playing and walking with them. I recently moved from Charleston area back to North Carolina and getting settled in with a new place and job. I thought this would be a great way to meet and experience different dog breeds before looking and deciding on a new dog for myself.
