Safety, trust & environment

I'm happy to stay over night at your home, if needed! I like to bring my own sleeping mat. I absolutely love to house sit! Many pets are so much more at ease when they get to stay home, they have company, and they can stick to their routines :) I love taking pups on your normal walk routes during your normal walking schedule, and I'm happy to take them for longer walks or hikes once I feel like they've adjusted. I've even brought a pup paddleboarding with me because I noticed he had a safety vest (his humans said it was like he was at summer camp haha :) ). *** important to note: I need to bring my two kitties if I'm housesitting for more than two nights*** My older cat is my ESA, and my younger cat is blind. They're both big ole sweeties and super well-behaved :) the kitties will just need a separate bedroom/area to hang out in while we're over.

Information Sam S. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know any meds your pet takes, how you usually dispense them, and any other daily rituals :) in my mind, one of the most important things to reduce your pet's stress about your absence is to maintain as much consistency as possible. So please don't be afraid to info dump, because I want to know it all! Your baby's comfort is my greatest priority :)

A typical day

I love taking dogs for a long walk in the morning and at night so that we can explore the neighborhood and get a lot of energy out. I run regularly, so I'd be happy to run with a dog if they're used to that! For dogs and cats, I enjoy setting up enrichment activities, such as food puzzles, and practicing commands to help them stay sharp and entertained in between visits :)

Pet care experience

Thanks for checking out my profile! I'm fortunate to have experience working with a wide range pups and kitties-- from a few months to nearly two decades old, anxious to outgoing, high energy to very chill, 150+ lbs to <5 lbs! I can work with such a wide range of pets by fostering a strong bond with each of them, tailoring my care to each unique personality and needs. This means I'm particularly good at getting close to (and wearing out!) anxious dogs. I'm very patient and energetic, which allows me to move at their pace and earn their trust. Does your pet need to go out 30 times a day? Or take multiple hour-long walks? I'm here for it! I have some dog (and cat!) training experience, so I'd be happy to teach basic commands and/or reinforce the commands you're already working on with your pup :) does your dog pull during walks? Do they come when you call? I can try to help! (I'm also happy to provide plant care! I'm an ecologist by trade.) I'm looking forward to meeting you and your sweet baby!

Sam did a great job watching my cat while I was in the hospital. She went overboard to ensure Autumn was integrated with her own cats. The pictures and videos were really appreciated and helped make my hospital stay more bearable.

Sam was wonderful with our dogs! She was able to build a positive relationship with our fearful pup and keep both engaged. Sam sent lots of pictures and video. I felt so relieved to know that my boys were comfortable in their own home and in good hands. Sam was respectful of our home and preferences. We'll definitely hire Sam again for our next trip!

Sam’s second visit with Sterling was splendid. Sam has provided a great peace of mind these past two visits while we had events to attend. Sam has also shared some thoughts about why Sterling may be acting a little more spunky outside. Something we will follow up on.

After not having time away from our senior due to his health issues we braved the distance and Sam helped to ease all of our worries. Sam took great care to meet all of our dogs’ needs while we had a night off from his care. We will be requesting to book with Sam again!
