Pet care experience
I am a very caring and compassionate individual who has always loved and felt very comfortable around dogs my entire life. The dogs I have interacted with (either my personal dogs or those that I have cared for) all feed off that energy and enjoy being around someone who they know will genuinely love and care for them. I am also very active & also believe activity is vital for dogs to stay healthy, so I love going on walks and playing with dogs in ways that get them running and exercising. I am not classically trained in dog skills but I have successfully helped potty train both my black lab and dogs that I have cared for in the past. I also have walked two dogs at the same time multiple times without any issues. As far as my availability is concerned, I am a law student, so my availability is heavily based on my school schedule. I love all dogs and do not have any preferences against dogs that I wouldn't want to work with. However, my favorite breeds are Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers (because those are the dogs that I had growing up and had a special bond with them - I had my golden from when I was born until I was 12 *lived for 13 years & my black lab from 13-24 *just a couple days shy of his 12th birthday). Things I would like to know about your dog though are: 1) how they get along with other people & other dogs, 2) if they are trained (potty or behavioral), 3) if there is any other special information you would like me to know.
A typical day
I would love to explore the neighborhood with your dog. Half of my walking style comes from the dog leading me where he or she wants to go & me just guiding them along for the ride (as long as it is a safe environment to do so). Other fun activities we can do are indoor and outdoor play activities such as fetch, chase, petting, tug of war, etc.
