Availability
Pet care is my full-time job, so there's no need to worry about me disappearing to an office for hours on end. I tailor my days and schedule to fit around your pets, not the other way around. Punctuality is important to me and I always aim to be as close to the booked time as possible, but there may inevitably be instances/days where I will be running a tad late due to traffic, weather, or unforeseen difficulties with an earlier clients (cleaning up messes, pet didn't want to go out/come in, etc.). Should such an occasion arise, I will notify you as soon as possible so you don't panic when the "Rover visit has started" notification doesn't come through when you expect it! Rest assured, your pet(s) will always get my full attention for the full time slot that is booked!

Safety, trust & environment
Going away is stressful for both you and your pet(s), so I strive to maintain as much a sense of normalcy and routine for them as possible. Anything that you do for your pet while you're home, I will do while you're away, whether that's crating them at night, wiping their paws every time they come inside, or boiling chicken for breakfast and dinner. I don't believe that pet-sitting is simply letting them out in the backyard every so often; when I stay, I take your dog(s) out for 3-4 walks per day (sometimes more if the weather is nice!), and provide plenty of play-time and snuggles! I treat my client's homes as if they are my own-- I tidy up after myself, wash, dry, and put away any dishes and towels I use, gather mail and packages, tend to any plants, and, if I can find one without being nosey, vacuum (your pets may not shed, but I certainly do!). I believe that no one wants to come home to a messy house and sad pet, so I go above and beyond to provide excellent service!
Information Sam B. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or requirements ahead of time (e.g. needs to be given meds, is reactive to other dogs, doesn't like children, etc.). Please also make sure there are adequate supplies available (extra poop bags, approved treats, cleaning supplies, etc.), primarily if a booking spans more than one day. Due to one unfortunate experience that resulted in me being chewed up, I do require at least one in-person meeting of all new clients and animals ahead of our first booking, both to make sure things will go smoothly and to get the lay of the land. I find that an initial meeting makes everyone's lives easier once you're away and gives you, the owners, some peace of mind since you then won't be leaving your pets with a complete stranger at that point!
A typical day
I love to walk, so walking is even more fun with a buddy! I'm game to walk as long and as far as your dog(s) are, and will oftentimes take them for a hike if I get the go-ahead from you!

Above & Beyond Pet Care!
Pet care experience
***Please note! Messages sent after 9 P.M. may not be seen/answered til the following morning!*** ***For my safety and your comfort, an in-person meet and greet is required of all new clients before I will accept a booking.*** ***My recurring weekly booking slots are currently limited. I will do my best to accommodate as many clients as possible, but there are only so many hours in a day!*** I've been in the petcare world "officially" for the last 10 years, but prior to that, I would take care of neighbors' and friends' pets anytime they went away just as a favor and a fun way to earn some extra cash. Time went on and I found that I vastly preferred spending time with furry clientele than going in to an office everyday, and I've since shifted in to being in the industry full-time! I have plenty of experience with dogs and cats of all ages (puppies/kittens to seniors) as well as birds, rabbits, and monkeys. I am an animal lover of all kinds, though, and would love to expand into more rodents and reptiles if the opportunity arose! I have a range of both on and off-Rover clients with pets of varying needs, sizes, and temperaments (meds, not great with kids/other dogs, etc.) so I'm capable of handling anything and everything that comes my way. I am also trained in pet first aid and CPR, and am working towards getting pet sitters/dog walkers insurance to protect both myself and your pets! I have many years of experience with and am comfortable giving medication to both cats and dogs in various forms, including: oral (injections, pills, liquid drops, gels/powders in food, etc.), transdermal, subcutaneous injections, and rectal injections.

Reviews

Sam was highly reliable, showing up on time or texting us if she thought she might be a little late. Our beagle mix can be challenging on a walk because of her tendency to stop and sniff so many inviting smells in the grass. Sam just took it in stride. She obviously has a lot of experience walking dogs.

I was so nervous about leaving my new, sweet puppy for the first time, but Sam did a great job taking care of her, with lots of check-ins, play time and attention. I'm so glad that she was able to work us into her schedule.

so friendly to meet and did an excellent job with my dog popcorn!! tons of great photos too

I can not recommend Sam enough! She is caring, responsive, prompt, and an animal lover through & through! She took amazing care of my cat and sent plenty of updates & photos! I feel confident my cat is in good hands when I am away! Thank you Sam!
