Safety, trust & environment

I live in a natural paradise beside a lake. Your pup/s will be walked on leash, by me personally, on one of several paths that run through the surrounding woods. They will be safely monitored at all times when outdoors. For their indoor comfort, I keep a space that is designed specifically for what dogs enjoy: a big, open room with plenty of area to romp and play with toys. This large room has a huge slider glass door that easily opens to the great outdoors, so dogs have uncomplicated access to view and walk out into nature at its finest, for the duration of their visit. Whenever I have one or more four-legged guests, I personally move downstairs to the lower level along with my own two dogs, Pookie and George. There I maintain a constant human presence, living with the animals around the clock. I sleep in a human bed that sits amongst the many dog beds all over the carpet, with ample room for owner-provided crates if that is where your dogs are accustomed to spending the night. The walk-out basement additionally has an interior room with pet-friendly furniture including two large couches, for lounging, napping and sleeping, if that is more cozy for your dog. The pups are allowed full access to roam about wherever they wish downstairs. Unless, that is, an unusual situation occurs where a guest needs to be sequestered for behavioral concerns, in which case it is easy to provide security and privacy for all affected with the simple closing of the interior room's door. Dogs are super comfortable here - it is quiet and they get a lot of freedom and love. The basement level is temperate - not at all difficult to keep cool during the summer and warm during winter months. I am delighted to be able to provide an ideal environment to insure safety and luxury for all visiting pets. In addition to boarding dogs here at my home, I am available to come to your place to dog-sit. I totally understand that maintaining routines and a consistent sense of home is preferable for some dog parents, and I am here to accommodate! Being independent and without family responsibilities, I am able to come to your living space and pick up the rhythms of your personal household while you are called away from home. I take bookings for both dog-sitting and dog boarding quite happily! Each of these circumstances has its appeal; I am totally game for each! Having done this full time for over three years, I am experienced in both, with dozens of bookings in each category. It is my way of life to be with dogs in the way that best serves my clients. Either way, my own two canine pals, Pookie and George, accompany me wherever I am. Each of them are well-seasoned to fitting in amiably with all manner of living conditions and they co-exist beautifully with all kinds of dogs no matter what size, age or temperament. I believe that their mature and steady personalities bring a calming influence to other dogs, who may be nervous about the temporary absence of their accustomed human family. Feedback through reviews has indicated that the three of us together make up a team of dog-tenders that is much praised and appreciated. I hope you will give me the honor of taking care of your beloved pet/s when you are called away - Thanks for considering me!

Information Sally M. would like to know about your pet

A history of aggressive behavior and/or an abundance of mindless barking would need to be reported and discussed first. All breeds, sizes, and temperaments are okay as long as safety and calm can be reasonably maintained during the visit. Incontinence and occasional "accidents" are not the end of the world - I have a great Kirby vacuum and I can always shampoo the carpets when the visit ends.

A typical day

My two dogs, George & Pookie, will keep your dogs company and the gang of us take amazing nature walks almost every day of the year. We have a long, open room to use where we can throw balls and chase about merrily. All the furniture is comfortable to cuddle on, with plenty of stroking and quiet, soothing talk for any shy pups that find themselves here. No pressure, not a lot of commotion and noise, no one coming in and out disrupting us from our good time together.

Pet care experience

Dogs have always been with me - my former neighborhood retail store always had shop dogs, I have always been the friend who watches friends' dogs while they are away, I have hired myself out to watch clients' dogs in their home or in mine, and of course I have always had dogs in my own home since childhood. I live alone in a beautiful natural setting with few distractions - I can and will give your pets my full attention. I am a communicator and will keep you posted on details when necessary or desired. I have a great home for pets - their happiness is paramount! Lots of one on one attention, playing, treats, and loving them up good is what I am famous for. Do you have more than one dog? Please bring them to me! My "additional dog" rate is small compared to my base rate for boarding and day care. Someone may undercut me in the regular nightly/daily fee, but be way more expensive than I am, if you have two or several pups. I enjoy packs of dogs - they usually exercise each other without my interference, while having more fun with the experience of being here!

First of all, Sally went above and beyond for me. I had a last minute booking and she happily accommodated my 2 mid-size 65-70 lb dogs, with 0 problems. Kept me up to date, took pictures of the happy boys, even took notes to remember my boys picky feeding schedule, but, was very reluctant at getting the job done while getting some extra furry time out of it. Truly, I believe it's because of her appreciation for dogs. If reliable was in your vocabulary for dog sitters, Sally is a tier 1 draft pick. Age is just a number for Sally. Her years of experience with dogs shows and I was able to enjoy a calm weekend away without a worry.

Sally took care of my cat while I was on vacation and I was able to enjoy my time away without a care! Someone who is reliable and communicative are the most important things when looking for a pet sitter, and Sally is both. My power went out while I was out of town and Sally made sure that I was updated and that my cat was cared for the entire time. I will definitely be booking with her again soon!

Sally treated my hyper boy with love and patience. She communicated well and listened to all of my concerns and needs. It takes a lot of trust to let someone watch your dog, and Sally has earned mine.

Sally was very nice and sent me ample pictures of my Buster. I forgot to take my dogs food and she she would give my boy some of her dogs food, if I didn’t mind. I would use Sally again. Thank you Sally, for loving my sweet boy!
