I have wide open availability, as I currently work part time at a remote job and I can set my own hours. Late nights are also perfect for me as I’m a bit of a night owl.

I mostly just try to make sure the pet is comfortable and not anxious. I will try to get a feel for their personality and if they want space, I will keep an eye on them but let them do their thing. If they seem like they want to play or hang out, I love animals and will be happy to keep them occupied. I also take Covid-19 very seriously, am fully vaccinated, and will be continuing to mask.

A typical day
I love nature so if the dog is up for it I would love to take them to any of the many lovely parks Seattle has to offer. I know quite a few hole in the wall parks that aren’t two crowded I think they would really like!

Pet care experience
I’m a grad student with several years of professional dog walking experience and I've been around animals my whole life. I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I love animals and want them to enjoy their time with me. I am covid conscious and still masking in public. I also love nature and taking dogs out to various nice outdoor spots is something I enjoy doing. Giving animals medication is no problem as long as there are clear and thorough instructions. I can't wait to meet all your lovely pets !

I've known Salix for years and they truly love and enjoy animals as well as kids. I've found them to be a conscientious, reliable sitter for my dog. On several occasions, I've left town for a few days while Salix dog sat. I've appreciated the way Salix follows directions I leave when I'm away such as closing the front gate, where to go on walks, when to give dog treats, etc. Salix is one of my first choices for dog care when I need to be away.
I have trusted my pit mix (Beastie) to Salix for a while. Beastie is a VERY rambunctious dog and people tend to avoid her, but Salix was different. After seeing how patiently and diligently Salix handled Beastie when they pet sat her with training pads, I asked if they'd be willing to walk her too, and they were so willing to go above and beyond. Even though Beastie is kind of hard to control and stronger than most dogs, Salix was able to be firm with her and never had an incident while walking! Never had a qualm or complaint with this caregiver - flexible, never cruel or inappropriate, never had an incident or bad report with my dog, consistent person - 100% would recommend!
Ive known Salix for about 6 years, they’ve taught me a lot, and have always been a reliable person I can reach out to for anything. They’re really good with animals from what I’ve experienced! They would help watch and care for my animals back in Arizona.
Proto M was very sweet. She watched my daughters dog Zoe while we were out of town. At first I was a bit sad to leave Zoe but Proto was very good at making her feel welcomed and even sent me a cute picture of Zoe living asleep on the couch next to a nice warm person (especially awesome since Zoe really really loves to snuggle) received updates while I was away and and she was super accommodating to our horrible traffic situation on our way back! Would def utilize Proto again. Great job!
