As a current parent to 2 cats and prior dog/fish mom, I have a lifetime of experience caring for critters of all shapes and sizes! My main job is being a Psychology PhD student and teacher at GMU (you can google my name!). I’ve worked with animal behaviorists and can handle a rowdy big floof, scaly friend, or tiny pooch! Senior care is a passion of mine, both in the animal and human domains. I am strongly against aggressive handling techniques and believe in a gentle yet firm approach, focusing on your pets unique needs and personality.

I follow a gentle, care-first approach, following your pets needs based on their personality and your experience. I ensure that all needs are cared for holistically, and as a current psychology student I have plenty of experience ensuring your pet feels comfortable, safe, and happy. I am always available to reach by phone during care, and will provide twice-daily (minimum! you will likely be spammed with pics haha) updates on wellness.

Rydia is a fantastic pet sitter. She took great care of my senior dog and five year old cat. She’s very loving and sweet with them. She also took great care of our home, taking the trash out when needed and making sure to keep the home super clean. She also sent regular updates and pictures, which put my mind at ease. Will definitely use here again and again!
Rydia watched our older cat Dave for a week while we were out of town. We don't leave her very often because she's older and so it was very nice to have her come in take pictures of him and keep us updated as to how Dave is doing and it just gave us peace of mind that we knew our cat was being well taken care of while we were gone
Our first pet sitter, also hired through Rover, had a medical emergency. With the help of Rover Customer Support, we chose a new sitter halfway through our trip. Rydia stepped up and handled things beautifully. Our minds were immediately at ease, despite Rydia's never having been in our home or having met our pets prior. She was at the house within half an hour of our first phone contact, and our pets and home were clearly in very good hands. Thank you, Rydia, for coming in clutch and saving the day!
Rydia was so accommodating even as our plans changed. She sent us photos and updates showing us how well she got along with my Husky during the daysit and was responsive in asking and answering questions. Will absolutely be happy to book again!
Words cannot express how grateful I am for Rydia. She's an amazing sitter that pays attention to detail. She took great care of my senior dog for 15 days while I was way care for my terminally ill mother. My mother passed away during my stay and Rydia did not hesitate to extend her stay whole funeral arrangements were made and she was peacefully put to rest. Thank you Rydia. Im forever grateful.

Im a PhD student at Mason during the day, so Im mostly available in the afternoons and evenings (past 3 pm). Im available for overnight stays, but will need to return during the day to get to school.
