I have not yet had the chance to update my profile since moving back to Massachusetts from Wisconsin, but the section below will be updated soon! I have a full-time career at an AZA-accredited zoo, but like many of us these days I work a “side hustle” to make the ends meet. I am largely available in mornings and evenings, and can make plans at least one week in advance for daytime or extended care.

Safety, trust & environment
While in a client’s home, I am mindful of their space and follow their instructions for caring for their animals, while keeping animal safety wellbeing and at the forefront of my consideration at all times. Each animal has their own requirements, and I adjust the care I provide in order to meet each animal where they are. Whether that means playing boisterously outdoors with an energetic dog or keeping an older cat quiet company inside, I am flexible in providing for each animal’s specific needs.
Information Ryann S. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if there are any particular things that make your pet feel uncomfortable, such as wearing hats or petting them in a certain place! I want to do everything I can to help your pet feel safe and at ease in my presence and your absence.
A typical day
Our activities vary depending on the unique needs and interests of both the animal and their owner! Generally speaking, l enjoy bringing dogs to nearby parks for a walk or taking them for a run (if running on-leash is possible). If going for a leashed walk isn’t an option, I will run around and play with any pup who needs to get their zoomies out! I also take time to provide the attention and affection that other types of pets (including fish, reptiles, amphibians, rats, rabbits, horses, pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, and cows) require after attending to their needs as directed by their owner. With every animal having their own personality and preferences, I adjust to whatever your pet tells me. If they want pets and play, that is how we will spend our time during my visit! If they prefer to interact from a distance, I respect that personal space “bubble” while I keep them company.

Pet care experience
I have been caring for others’ pets ever since I began babysitting at 13 years old, with neighbors and friends entrusting me to take care of their children (both human and furry!). With a specialized Bachelors of Science degree in Wildlife Care, I have worked with or managed the care of many species of animals in a variety of settings, such as on a farm, in a wildlife rehabilitation center, and at an AZA-accredited zoo. I place the highest value on learning the individual personalities and preferences of animals, as they all have their own quirks that need consideration and can impact their care, just as humans do. I have two cats and a ball python myself, and I am very particular about the care they receive when I am out of town. I understand your need for a knowledgeable and trustworthy sitter, and am confident I will provide that for you!
Reviews

Ryann was absolutely wonderful! We could tell Ryann truly cared about our kitties, and left great detailed notes and lots of photos. Will absolutely book with Ryann again!

Ryann was so attentive and communicative while checking in on my cat. She brings the exact kind of support you dream of in a pet sitter.

Ryann was so kind and such a good sitter for my cat. She took such good care of my little one, and sent tons of pictures so I could see how everything was going. I would absolutely recommend Ryann to anyone who has to go away and wants to make sure their animals are cared for by the best. 🥰
Ryann took care of our 14 year old diabetic cat for five days while we were away on a cruise. She provided timely and frequent updates and came over for a preliminary visit before we left to make sure she understood his needs. He is very shy and is a "hider" and she really knows animal behavior and won him over, which is hard to do---it usually takes him weeks to warm up to a new human. Ryann took great care of our pet (including insulin injections) and our home. Thank you Ryann!
