Currently I only walk dogs and do not offer pet sitting. With respect to walking, I come prepared with treats (depending on your dogs dietary restrictions), bags and water. I believe in keeping a warm and rewarding relationship with the dog in my care, so that connecting with me is its own treat. If there is a problem behavior, I believe in holding boundaries without being aggressive or mean, and using positive reinforcement for cooperation. I will not use aversives like violence or a shock collar.

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs. Also please inform me if your dog is aggressive towards or fearful of other dogs or humans, and if they tend to lunge after or attempt to chase stray cats or any other species. Finally, let me know what your dog likes best so I can offer them plenty of it!
A typical day
When I walk your dog, unless they are elderly or disabled, I keep a brisk pace — a slow human is like a turtle to a dog! I allow lots of stops for sniffs, since engaging the environment with their nose is a reward in itself for a dog, though I’ll always do my best to make sure they don’t get into anything gross. I also do stops for water and cuddles depending on how welcome touch is to your dog.

PLEASE NOTE: it is my policy that I will not use shock collars, prong collars, or any aversives. If you do use such things with your dogs I do not judge but I am not comfortable using them so other options need to be available if you do decide to hire me. I grew up with four dogs, spent my hs summers volunteering at a dog shelter, and walked a dog 3x daily for an elderly man undergoing chemo last year. I believe in being careful and compassionate with animals. I love dogs and love walking!
