Your dog stays in a clean, safe home setting — not a kennel — with supervised play, clear boundaries, and individualized attention. Pricing note: All rates listed by Red Door Canine Retreat include applicable HST. The boarding rate shown on my profile already includes the required tax. Rover may separately include its own booking fee in the total displayed to pet parents.

Ryan was exceptional. This was my first time boarding Otis, so I was nervous about the entire process. Ryan made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. The amount of updates and pictures I received was wonderful! Ryan's experience and knowledge of dogs' behavior and dynamics really impressed me. He makes it a priority to ensure that all dogs are comfortable and happy, and Otis became great friends with the other dogs he was boarding with. He truly cares about the dogs, and it shows. All of my expectations were exceeded, and I'm excited for Otis' next visit!
I was so worried about leaving Missy in a home with other dogs as she is not dog friendly….much to my surprise it all went swimmingly well! Ryan sent me many beautiful photos of Missy co-existing with the different size and breeds there 😍 Ryan has a very relaxed and calm manner around his guest and it seems to rub off on them….I call him the Dog Whisperer 😀 I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Missy there again, thanks Ryan!

We had such a wonderful experience with Ryan! He took amazing care of our 1-year-old male Pyrenees mix Dexter for two days, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the start, Ryan was friendly, communicative, and clearly experienced with dogs. He made sure our pup felt comfortable, gave him plenty of attention, exercise, and affection, and kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. When we picked him up, Dexter was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. It was obvious he had been treated like part of the family. We truly appreciated the love, patience, and care he showed Dexter. We would absolutely trust Ryan with our dog again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional dog sitter. Thank you for taking such great care of our boy!

Schedule
Dog care is fully integrated into my daily routine. I am home throughout the day to provide supervision, structured play, rest periods, and consistent monitoring. Walks, feeding times, and downtime follow a predictable schedule to help dogs feel secure and settled. Because I limit capacity to 3–5 dogs, I’m able to provide attentive, hands-on care rather than rotating supervision.

Safety is my top priority. All stays require a meet-and-greet to ensure temperament compatibility. Dogs are supervised during play, and I carefully manage introductions and energy levels to prevent overstimulation.
A typical day
Mornings begin with calm greetings, bathroom breaks, and structured walks. Throughout the day, dogs enjoy supervised playtime, enrichment activities, and rest periods to maintain balanced energy levels. I offer twice-daily walks, and for higher-energy dogs, I can incorporate longer outings or runs when appropriate. There is a large nearby field and forest trail for safe exploration. Evenings focus on winding down, relaxed social time, and maintaining each dog’s normal feeding and bedtime routine. Owners receive thoughtful photo updates with captions so they can see exactly how their dog is adjusting and enjoying their stay.
