Pet care experience

Lifelong Pet Caregiver

I’ve been caring for pets my entire life, from tiny 8-pound Chihuahuas to 180-pound gentle giants like Bernese Mountain Dogs. I’m comfortable with all sizes, ages, and personalities. From energetic puppies to seniors who need a little extra patience and support. I also have extensive experience with cats and currently have three of my own, so I understand the routines, behaviors, and special attention that both dogs and cats need to feel safe and happy. Over the years, I’ve helped care for a wide range of pets for family, friends, and clients, and I always treat every animal like they’re part of my own family. Whether it’s feeding, walking, playtime, medications, or simply offering companionship, I’m dedicated to making sure every pet feels loved and well-cared for while their owners are away.

Safety, trust & environment

My top priorities are safety, consistency, and creating a calm, comfortable environment. I always follow each pet’s established routines so they feel secure, and I take time to understand their personality, needs, and comfort levels before introducing anything new. In a client’s home, I keep their space exactly as I found it while maintaining a clean, pet-safe environment. I make sure doors and gates are securely closed, food and medications are given exactly as directed, and any special instructions are followed closely. I’m attentive to behavior and energy levels, and I take extra care with senior pets, shy pets, or pets who need a slower, gentler approach. I’m respectful of your home, your pet’s routine, and your expectations, and I always communicate clearly with updates, photos, and anything I notice during my visits. My goal is to ensure your pet feels safe, loved, and well-cared for while you’re away—and that you feel completely at ease knowing they’re in good hands.

Ryan has 4 pets of his own (3 cats and 1 bunny), all of which were rescued from abusive or neglectful environments. He spends his weekends volunteering at an animal sanctuary that rehabilitates hundreds of different animals at any time. His pet bunny was very sick, but Ryan tirelessly syringe fed him and created an accessible enclosure as he recovered. The bunny went from not being able to move for months, to now running laps around the house and hopping around happy as can be. Ryan is truly a one of a kind person. He is kind and selfless and wants nothing more than to take care of others. This is true for humans and pets alike, which gives me so much confidence that he will care for your pets as if they were his own.

Schedule

I do work full-time, but I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to provide reliable and consistent pet care. I work remotely on Mondays and Fridays, which means I’m available throughout the day for check-ins, walks, feedings, and companionship. From Friday through Monday, I can visit pets during the day as needed. On the days I’m in the office, I’m still available for early-morning and after-work visits, making it easy to keep your pet’s routine on track. Whether it’s a quick check-in, a long walk, or extra attention, I’m committed to making sure your pets feel comfortable and cared for no matter what day of the week it is.

To make sure I can provide the best possible care, I always appreciate knowing a few things about your pet before our time together. This includes: - Daily routine – feeding schedule, walk times, play preferences, and bedtime habits. - Personality & temperament – are they shy, energetic, anxious, cuddly, or independent? - Behavior quirks – any fears (storms, loud noises), reactivity, escape habits, or things that make them nervous. - Health needs – medications, mobility issues, allergies, or anything I should monitor closely. - Enrichment preferences – favorite toys, games, treats, and grooming preferences (like brushing). - Household rules – furniture rules, crate routines, and any training cues you use regularly. Knowing these details helps me keep your pet’s routine consistent and ensures they feel safe, comfortable, and understood from my very first visit.
