Information Ryan B. would like to know about your pet

In order to provide the best care possible for your dog at the Golden Lab Lodge, we need to know a few important things about them in advance: Behavioral Traits: It's important to know if your dog is playful, quiet, energetic, or nervous. Understanding their personality helps me tailor my care to their specific needs and preferences. Socialization: How your dog interacts with other dogs is crucial, especially since they'll be spending time with my golden retriever, Rambo. If your dog loves playing and chasing, that's great! It'll be fun to incorporate plenty of interactive games during their stay. Health Conditions: Any known health issues, allergies, or specific dietary needs your dog may have are critical for me to be aware of to ensure their health and safety. Training Level: Knowing your dog's level of obedience training helps set the right expectations for behavior and commands. This is particularly helpful during playtime and walks. Routine: Dogs often do best when they can stick to a routine they're familiar with. Details about their typical feeding schedule, walk times, and bedtime are helpful to make their stay more comfortable. Emergency Contact Information: While I always prioritize your dog's safety, it's essential to have your vet's contact information and any other emergency contacts just in case. Favorite Activities & Toys: Knowing your dog's favorite games or toys can help me make their stay more enjoyable and fun-filled. Having this information in advance ensures I can provide your dog with a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable stay at Golden Lab Lodge.

A typical day

Morning: We start the day bright and early with play and potty break. It's a beautiful, safe, and quiet place, perfect for chasing and getting a good morning stretch. Then it's breakfast time. All dogs have their meals separately to avoid any food-related issues and ensure they are eating their own diet. After breakfast, we have a short relaxation time to let the food settle down. Mid-Morning to Afternoon: After the relaxation period, we walk to the park and play fetch. This is a good time to incorporate bits of training and behaving on a leash. Training exercises are not only fun but they also stimulate the dogs mentally. Afterwards, we head to our large, secure backyard for some outdoor free play. This is also when Rambo loves to play and interact with our guest dogs, encouraging a bit of friendly play and socialization. Sometimes the dogs like to chase lizards and bark at squirrels. Rest and Nap Time: After playtime, we come back inside for a drink and quiet nap time. This allows your dog to rest and recharge for the rest of the day's activities. Late Afternoon: After nap time, we head outback again. Depending on the day and the weather, will determine how long they stay out. I always ensure that any environment we visit is safe and suitable for your dog's needs. Evening: Dinner is served in the early evening, followed by some more relaxation time. We might watch a movie, have some gentle indoor play or cuddle time. As the day winds down, we make sure all our dogs are feeling calm and comfortable. Night: Before bedtime, there's a final bathroom break and a bit of quiet time to help your dog wind down for the night. I'll make sure your dog is comfortable in their own sleeping space, and then it's lights out, ready to rest up for another exciting day! Each day is designed to provide a mix of exercise, play, rest, and individual attention to your dog, ensuring they enjoy their stay at the Golden Lab Lodge to the fullest. Please note that while this is our typical day, I am flexible and attentive to the individual needs of each dog, adjusting the schedule as needed.

Pet care experience

We care exclusively for Goldens and Labrador Retrievers. With over a decade of experience caring for dogs, I've honed a deep understanding and empathy for their needs. I've been trusted by friends, neighbors, and family to care for their pets, from walking to feeding to bathing. This experience is coupled with an ongoing journey of training and caring for my own puppy, which has given me special insights into the unique needs and personalities of Golden Retrievers and Labs. As a work-from-home professional, I can offer your beloved pets continuous care and attention throughout the day.

Ryan took great care of Chickpea! She had the best time playing with his golden, and it was clear she was happy and comfortable the whole stay. Ryan sent daily videos, which I really appreciated (it made being away way less stressful). Would 100% book with him again and definitely recommend!
