Availability
I work part time and a pretty flexible/variable schedule, so I generally have lots of time at home! Generally, we take a walk through the neighborhood daily, plus additional yard or play time indoors.

Safety, trust & environment
Our yard is fully fenced and accessible from the house and our neighborhood is great for dog walking. For at-your-home pet care, I generally like to visit with you and your pets before you are gone, so that I can make sure that your pets will be comfortable with me entering the home, and to make sure I know how to keep your house/yard secure.
Information Ruth O. would like to know about your pet
If your dog has any special needs or other potential issues, such as separation anxiety, I like to know this beforehand. It's easier to ensure a quality stay for your animal if I can prepare accordingly.
A typical day
I generally walk the dogs at least once per day in our neighborhood, which has little traffic and very few other dog encounters. We also have lots of toys, chew toys, and training aids to play or do training.

Pet care experience
I have been a dog owner/trainer/lover for more than thirty years and have provided pet sitting services in the Klamath Falls area since moving here in 2006. I currently work only part time, so have lots of free time at home. My husband Jay works a flexible full time job, and is the other "occupant" and dog-lover in our home. I'm mildly allergic to cats, so we don't have one at home, but I enjoy caring for them in their own home. If you need in-home cat care, I'm happy to provide that service and can give you cat-specific references if needed. I have been training obedience and agility dogs for many years and have dabbled in field/hunt and herding as well. Our older, small dog Lyle is very dog friendly and used to having other dogs come and stay at our home. We welcome any dog that can get along with our little boy. We live in a great neighborhood, off the beaten path and safe for dog walks. My dogs and those that stay here generally sleep in crates (or on a dog bed if that is your dog's normal routine), and I'm happy to provide some general training if needed. I am also happy to administer medication if you have a dog with those requirements. Lyle was a foster-failure from the local animal shelter, so I am familiar with some of the issues that rescue dogs may have (housetraining, fear of people/other dogs/etc) and understand that boarding these dogs in a commercial kennel can be very traumatic for them. If we are away during the day, the dogs stay in the kitchen/dining room area, with baby-gates to limit access to the other rooms (carpeted areas). We live in a great pet home (access to main living space and yard has no steps) and have a fully fenced, grass yard in back, with no immediate neighbors. Our yard is fenced with panel fencing (~4 feet high) that has about 2 feet of chicken wire on the bottom (to keep out the skunks and other critters). We spend lots of time outside when the weather is great...hanging out in the yard and working in the garden. We've got a nice, quiet home without a lot of excitement happening...great for older or shy dogs that are used to a calm environment!
