Our dog Oakley is a senior and has lost her hearing, so I was a little nervous about leaving her with someone while we went away on a four-day camping trip. But I felt immediately at ease when I met Ruth. She was amazing with Oakley—kind, attentive, and very understanding of the extra care that comes with looking after a senior dog. It was clear that Oakley was treated like a member of the family, and she loved all the walks and attention she received! We also really appreciated the pictures and updates Ruth sent while we were away. It was so reassuring to see that Oakley was happy, comfortable, and being so well cared for, and it allowed us to enjoy our trip without worrying about her. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Oakley with Ruth again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone caring and trustworthy to look after their dog. Thank you Ruth!

Totally trust Ruth with our golden. He loves being there and we know he’s getting his much needed daily exercise. Never mind all the love and attention he receives. We enjoy the pictures Ruth sends showing how well taken care of he is. ❤️
Brie had the best time with Ruth. We had updates daily of their adventures, and felt so comfortable leaving our girl at their beautiful home. Next time we go away, will definitely be reaching out to Ruth again!

Schedule
I am actively retired but do a lot of volunteer work locally including leading hikes. I live in a quiet, walkable neighbourhood and love dogs.

My house is lakefront with a fenced backyard and a pool in the summer. We are close to the Bruce Trail and several off-leash and leashed parks.
A typical day
Morning walk up to 5km which might be around the neighborhood or a hike up the escarpment followed by a quiet day. Another shorter walk after dinner. Maybe a game or two during the day. A swim in the pool, if permitted during the summer.
