Availability
I’m currently on a hiatus from work which means I have a lot of time on my hands, especially during the work week! My schedule will be updated regularly to account for any preexisting/standing appointments or engagements, but otherwise my availability is quite open!

Safety, trust & environment
I work closely with owners to understand the needs of their pet and make sure they receive the best care possible. I am respectful of the clients living space while working to meet their pet’s need for consistency, routine, and familiarity in that space while they are away. Note regarding personal cameras: I understand the need to make sure your pet is receiving the best care possible. However, for the sake of personal privacy and mutual transparency, I ask that you please inform me beforehand of the location(s) of any cameras in your home and your intended usage activities during my stay.
Information Ruth K. would like to know about your pet
Every dog is different. I have experience watching dogs of all temperaments and energy levels. I’m respectful and cognizant of their physical limitations or social comfort levels, as specified by the client. For short or long stays, it’s important for me to meet and get to know your dog beforehand to understand their unique needs and establish a basic level of trust. Other details that are important for me to know are typical length of walks and frequented routes, social aversions, extent of leash and/or crate training, potty break and hunger cues, medication schedules, comfort levels with other dogs, and emergency medical protocol. The more details the better!!
A typical day
Exercise is such an important part of dogs’ physical and mental well-being, as well as mine! If your dog is high energy and physically able, I will make sure they receive lots of time to play and explore outside. For dogs with disabilities or those who require less outside activity, I always make time to do inside play with their favorite toys. And of course cuddles are always welcomed and encouraged if your pet is comfortable with it, regardless of their size or abilities :)

Experienced Dog Lover
Pet care experience
I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. Dogs are naturally drawn to me, and even the most sensitive pups feel easily comfortable around me. For over a decade, I’ve taken care of small dogs, medium dogs, and big dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments in both small and large capacities. Dog sitting has always been a welcome job for me in even the busiest times of my life and I make sure to meet their needs as well as they meet mine. My life circumstances have not allowed me to have a pet of my own, which makes me all the more happy to spend time with and take care of others’.
Reviews

Ruth is a dog whisperer! Our usually timid/shy dog took only a day to warm up to her. Ruth is very responsive and reliable which put our minds at ease while we were out of town. Would definitely book with her again!

Ruth was super helpful, thoughtful, and kind while watching my cat and puppy! I asked for her to pet sit pretty last minute and she went above and beyond to keep my pets happy and comfortable. It was my first time ever leaving my puppy and I felt great leaving her in Ruth’s hands. Would love to have her back next time I’m out of town :)

Ruth was awesome!! George loved her! I would definitely book with her again ??

So genuine and helpful our boy came back so happy from his walk
