Availability
As I am a freelancer, I can have gaps in contracts and this is when I will have full-time availability for dog-walking and minding services. I will also be available evening and weekends when I am working my main job, and I am able to take in dogs on my work from home days.

A typical day
I think training and mind games are great to help burn off energy, as well as big runs around! I love making up kongs, licky mats, or any other slow feeder toys for your dogs. Happy to work within any allergies or dietary requirements.

Pet care experience
I am now available again after moving home to Ireland from 15 years living in Glasgow, hence my previous bookings being in the UK. I have grown up with dogs and horses all my life, and our best boy still greets me when I get home to visit, I love being around dogs especially. I fostered rescue greyhounds throughout lockdown when I was working from home full-time and it was one of the best things I ever did, I am a massive advocate for them. Rescue greyhounds and lurchers need a massive PR campaign as the fantastic pets they are here in Ireland! In between volunteering with Dogs Trust on their puppy training classes, and minding friends dogs whenever they need, and volunteering at Soi Dog in Thailand to walk the dogs there, I also work as a freelance project manager in media, so I sometimes have contract gaps, and I like to fill them with as much dog-time as I can! I am single, with no kids and I live in Tuam so I have lots of time to help you out at the moment. I also completed a dog training course with Institute of Modern Dog Training (IMDT) with Steve Mann, so I understand positive reinforcement training and I love practicing. I am often available for last minute bookings, and will consider further afield for house sitting bookings. I have a car and a dog seat hammock to take pups on spins if that's something you would like. Happy to provide references, Thanks, Ruth

Ruth watched my 2 ragdoll cats while myself and my husband were away. She was flexible with their schedule and went above and beyond to get them outside in our garden so they could get some outside time! We loved seeing their photo updates, and our apartment was well looked after for when we came home. Thankyou Ruth!
Ruth was great, she stayed with our little puppy for two days while I was away for work, took her to the café, the beach, let her snooze curled up on the couch and kept in touch with me. Came back to a happy puppy.
Ruth was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. From the very first meeting, she completely put us at ease with how naturally she connected with Arnie, Willie, and Heidi—our two energetic cockers and lively Irish setter are not the easiest trio, but she handled them with total confidence and care. It was clear right away that Ruth genuinely understands dogs and is incredibly attentive to their needs. Throughout the stay, she kept us updated regularly, which made such a difference and allowed us to relax knowing they were in such good hands. We came home to three very happy, well-cared-for dogs and a house that was just as we left it. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We’ll definitely be recommending Ruth to all our friends and family for house sitting—she was brilliant!
