When I was sixteen, I adopted a 12-week-old lab mix from a shelter. He was my best companion till he passed away an old boy a few years ago. He was there with me through all major life events from graduating high school to getting married. I know what it takes to care for a dog from their young days to their old days. I miss him and know that pet sitting is a good way for me to remember him by. I never knew how much of a cat lover I could be until I gave my wife a kitten for our wedding gift. It turns out it was meant to be, she has a personality just like her mom and she even has a little heart mark in the center of her forehead. Her name is Lou, and she's one of the best parts of my life. I know a lot about cats and dogs, but I also know how to care for birds, rats/hamsters and fish. My wife and I raised two baby female rats and they lived to their old age. I've also owned many fish/aquariums, from 5 gallon tanks to 40 gallon tanks. I know how to administer medicine, take care of elderly pets, potty train and teach basic commands. I would be very happy to help out with your pet (let's be honest -- family member) in any way that you need, from taking a long holiday to just needing someone to run by during your lunch break to provide a walk and some attention.
