Hi! Nice to meet you - I’m Ruriko 😊 I’m from Japan and have had dogs almost my entire life. My family raised several French Bulldogs, and now I share my life in Canada with my own husky x Pyrenees mix. Caring for dogs has always been part of my love. I respect their boundaries and make sure to take some time to build relationship with them! I’m comfortable with strong pullers, high-energy dogs, and even puppy chaos. I try to understand about them, and build a good relationship! My goal is for every dog to feel safe, understood, and cared for like family while they’re with me:) We are family of 3, myself my bf and Luke🐶. However, my partner often be away for work trips, it’s better to plan things thinking it’s just me and Luke while your pup’s stays. I might have another 🐶, I’ll certainly let you know if so.

Ruriko was the best dog sitter! She kept me updated daily with videos and photos of my dog, the exercise and care given. She was consistent with hours of exercise and enrichment for my dog. I was happy with her large yard for my dog to wander and play in and he prefers to be outside a lot and his tenancy to bark a lot was not an issue. She seems to genuinely care for all animals and treats them as her own. My dog seemed to get along amazingly well with her dog and the other dogs that she took on during my dogs stay. I would definitely use her again and can’t recommend her enough!
We had such a great experience! Ruriko took my furry boy on trail walk, and even followed his lead when he insisted on going to the dog park 😂 She kept us updated, spent quality time playing with my him and made sure he was fed. We truly appreciated the care, attention, and love she gave him. We felt completely at ease knowing Zazú was in good hands and would absolutely trust her again. Highly recommend! 🐾💛
From the start, she was communicative, accommodating, and genuinely caring. She was flexible with our schedule and worked with us when plans needed adjusting, which we really appreciated. She sent frequent updates and lots of photos, so we always knew how Wailer was doing. Wailer got along incredibly well with her dog, and it was clear he was comfortable and happy the entire stay. He came home relaxed and well cared for. We would definitely use her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive dog sitter.

Schedule
I currently work full-time as a reflexologist with a schedule below (mostly): • Thu: 12:00pm - 8:00pm • Fri: 1:00pm – 9:00pm • Sat & Sun: 11:00 - 7:00pm My mornings are fully dedicated to dog care. We usually wake up around 7am, and I provide long walks or hikes, outdoor playtime, feeding, and calm time before I leave for work. They will have 3–4 hours of outside good time in the morning before I leave for work. When I’m at work, they can rest comfortably at home with sunlight through big windows 🪟 They will have quick potty break, dinner cuddle time when I return home.

Safety, trust & environment
I live on a quiet farm property with plenty of space and a calm, low-stress environment. For boarding/sitting, your dog can have a separate room on the same floor as us, space to relax or sleep if they want. You’re welcome to bring your dog’s own bed, blanket, kennel, toys, or mat so they feel at home. My dog, Luke enjoys having his yard, and spend as many hours as possible outside 🐾 He wonders around the yard all morning, go out, and hang out again until I leave for work in the noon-afternoon.

A typical day
A typical day is pretty simple! We spend a lot of time outside before work, walking, hiking, or just being out, depending on the day. We often go to hikes/parks in Langley, Abbotsford, Maple Ridge, and Walnut Grove. On my day offs, I visit North Vancouver trails, Vancouver doggy park with his bffs! Luke always tries to spend as much time as possible outside, and I’d love him to have as much fun as possible everyday. He is also very good at staying home alone. He would often whine for 15sec after I leave house but will start sleeping peacefully. Luke always enjoys having accompany too! When I’m working, Luke has full access in the house. If you’d feel more comfortable to limit access while I board your pups, let me know:) I take plenty of photos and videos (probably too many!) and love sharing updates.
