I’m currently looking for a full-time job, so I have lots of free time at the moment. Until the end of September, pet care is pretty much my full-time job ;) I’m available most days and can give your pet plenty of attention and company.

Every pet has their own personality, so I always like to get to know them first. I’ll adapt my approach depending on what they’re comfortable with and whether they have any special needs or routines. My goal is simply to make them feel safe and relaxed. I’ll make sure they have a clean and comfortable environment, fresh water, enough food (plus their favourite treats if they’re allowed!), and plenty of company while you’re away.

A typical day
Every pet enjoys different things. We might go for walks, play with their favourite toys, do some simple games, or just relax together. I’d also love to know what your pet enjoys most, so I can make sure they have a happy and comfortable time with me.

Pet care experience
I have over 12 years of experience caring for my own golden retriever, from the time he was a puppy until his final years. Looking after him through every stage of his life taught me not only the daily routines, but also how to care for a senior dog with patience and attention. Two years ago, I rescued a stray dog (he is all black and very cute🥹) with a serious skin condition. I spent weeks giving him medicated baths, cleaning and treating his skin, and making sure he felt safe. He made a full recovery and was later adopted. I’ve also looked after friends’ cats and have spent a lot of time around both cats and dogs. I think what makes me different is that I pay close attention to animals and the signals they give. I enjoy getting to know each pet’s personality, whether they’re playful, nervous, independent or simply want some quiet company. I try to understand what they need. I’m naturally gentle and patient. I believe the time we share with animals is precious because their lives are much shorter than ours. So I always try to make sure they feel safe, comfortable and genuinely cared for while their family is away.

I’ve known her for quite a long time, and one thing that’s always been clear is how much she cares about animals. If she sees a stray dog or cat that needs help, she’ll stop and see what she can do instead of just walking away. She grew up with her own dog, so she understands how much pets become part of the family. Over the years, she’s also learned a lot about cats and dogs simply by spending time with them and paying attention to their behaviour. Knowing her, I can honestly say that she’s a very thoughtful and caring person. The way she treats animals is the same way she treats people, with patience, kindness and respect. If I ever needed someone to look after my pets, she’d definitely be one of the first people I’d ask.
Ricki is one of the very few people I completely trust to look after my cat. Whenever I’m away, I know my cat will be in good hands. She doesn’t just make sure they’re fed or walked, she really pays attention to how they’re feeling and spends time with them. After she’s looked after them, my pets are always relaxed and happy, and it’s obvious they see her as someone they know and trust, almost like part of the family. She has a naturally calm and gentle way with animals, and they seem to feel comfortable around her very quickly. I would never hesitate to ask her to care for my pets again and would happily recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and responsible pet sitter.
