Trusted Care, A Home Away From Home
With 10 years of personal pet care experience and over two years as a Rover Star Sitter, I’ve built lasting relationships with many dogs and their families including many repeat pups who return to stay with me again and again. I have experience caring for puppies, senior dogs, shy and anxious dogs, and pups with specific routines or medication needs. I take the time to understand each dog’s personality, habits, and comfort level so I can care for them as an individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I’m especially patient with dogs who need a little more time to adjust. Some of the most rewarding stays have been with shy or anxious pups who gradually relax, open up, and begin treating my home like their second home. I’m attentive to the details that matter: feeding and medication schedules, walks and potty routines, appetite, energy levels, behavior, and the little habits that make each dog unique. Communication is also a big part of my care. I send daily photos and videos so you can actually see how your dog is settling in and enjoying their stay. My goal isn’t simply to watch your dog while you’re away. I want to become someone both you and your dog know and trust, so each future stay feels familiar, comfortable, and easy. 🐾

We are absolutely so glad we chose Rui to look after Prince while we were away in Europe for two weeks. We truly could not have asked for a better person to care for him. Prince is a very shy and anxious little guy who does not open up to many people. We started with a daycare session with Rui, and we knew almost immediately that she was the person we wanted to choose to look after him for our two week trip. Rui was absolutely amazing with him. She was incredibly loving, patient, and caring, and within a day or so, Prince had completely come out of his shell and was acting like his happy, playful self. It was such a huge relief for us and allowed us to actually relax and enjoy our vacation knowing he was in such good hands. Rui also went above and beyond with his routine. Prince has a fairly strict feeding routine that involves mixing his kibble with cooked, shredded chicken breast, and she followed everything perfectly. We felt completely at ease knowing his routine was being maintained. The daily updates were also fantastic. Rui would often send us multiple updates throughout the day, including photos and videos of Prince playing, going for walks, enjoying treats, and just having a great time. The updates were not only incredibly reassuring, but also so cute and genuinely made our day while we were away. You can truly tell that Rui cares deeply about animals, and it was clear to us that she really fell in love with Prince during his stay. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our experience. Rui gave Prince so much love and attention, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she did for him. We will absolutely choose Rui again and would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and exceptional to look after their pet. Prince clearly had an amazing time, and we couldn’t have asked for anything more.

We had a great experience with Rui! We have a very shy and anxious puppy, so we were understandably nervous after a previous Rover experience with another sitter wasn’t the best fit. Rui was actually our first choice initially, and we’re so glad we came back to her. From the meet and greet to daycare, everything was seamless. Rui was warm, welcoming, and communicative. She kept us updated throughout the day with photos and updates, which gave us a lot of peace of mind before Prince’s upcoming boarding stay. The best part was seeing Prince come home happy and relaxed, and hearing that he ate all of his food and was starting to feel more comfortable. We highly recommend Rui to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy, and reliable dog sitter!

Schedule
Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work from home, allowing me to spend plenty of time with the dogs staying with me. Our days include regular walks and potty breaks, meals, playtime, rest, and lots of companionship. I keep my schedule flexible around each dog’s normal routine and needs. Many of my repeat pups enjoy simply staying close to me throughout the day, whether we’re relaxing at home, playing, or heading out for a walk.

I focus on creating a calm, safe, and comfortable home environment where each dog can settle in at their own pace. I take time to learn each dog’s normal routine, personality, feeding schedule, sleeping habits, and any special needs before their stay. I maintain their routine as closely as reasonably possible and pay attention to changes in appetite, energy, bathroom habits, and behavior. Compatibility is important to me, which is why I prefer a meet & greet with new clients before boarding. For longer stays or dogs who may need more time to adjust, I may recommend a short daycare or overnight trial first. I also provide daily photo and video updates so you can see how your dog is settling in and enjoying their stay. My goal is for your pup to feel secure and cared for and for you to enjoy your time away knowing they’re in good hands.
A typical day
I want your dog’s stay to feel less like traditional boarding and more like staying in a familiar, loving home. I follow their usual feeding schedule and routine as closely as reasonably possible and provide regular walks, potty breaks, playtime, rest, affection, and companionship throughout the day. Dogs are included in everyday life here. Some like to curl up beside me while I’m working or relaxing, some follow me around the home, and others prefer having their own quiet space to nap. I let each dog settle in at their own pace and pay attention to what makes them feel most comfortable. We enjoy peaceful neighborhood walks as well as the beautiful trails around Terra Nova and the Fraser River, with plenty of time to sniff, explore, and enjoy being outside. You’ll receive daily photo and video updates so you can see how your pup is doing rather than having to wonder or constantly check in. If I notice anything unusual with their appetite, energy, bathroom habits, or behavior, I’ll keep you informed. Most importantly, I want you to be able to leave your dog with me and genuinely relax, knowing they are receiving attentive, loving care while you’re away.
