Hi, I'm Rui — a dedicated, work-from-home pet sitter who genuinely loves caring for dogs as if they were my own. I've been a trusted Rover sitter for over two years and have had puppies of my own, so I understand both the joy and the responsibility that comes with caring for a beloved family member. I know firsthand how difficult it can be to leave your dog behind, which is why I strive to provide the same level of love, patience, and attention that I would want for my own pets. I live in Richmond, just minutes from Terra Nova Park, the Fraser River, scenic walking trails, and a large neighborhood dog park. It's a quiet, pet-friendly area with plenty of green space, making it the perfect environment for dogs to explore, exercise, and relax. I've cared for dogs of all ages and personalities, from energetic 6-month-old puppies to gentle 17-year-old seniors requiring medication, mobility support, and specialized care. Every dog is unique, so I tailor my care to their routine, personality, energy level, and individual needs. Because I work from home, your dog will have company and supervision throughout the day. I only host one family's pets at a time (unless they're from the same household), allowing me to provide dedicated one-on-one attention and personalized care. The most rewarding part of pet sitting is the bond I build with every dog. My goal is not only to make your dog feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away, but also to give you complete peace of mind. We had a great experience with Rui! We have a very shy and anxious puppy, so we were understandably nervous after a previous Rover experience with another sitter wasn’t the best fit. Rui was actually our first choice initially, and we’re so glad we came back to her. From the meet and greet to daycare, everything was seamless. Rui was warm, welcoming, and communicative. She kept us updated throughout the day with photos and updates, which gave us a lot of peace of mind before Prince’s upcoming boarding stay. The best part was seeing Prince come home happy and relaxed, and hearing that he ate all of his food and was starting to feel more comfortable. We highly recommend Rui to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy, and reliable dog sitter!

Schedule
I'm currently working from home so pet care fits seamlessly into my daily and weekly routine. Each day starts with morning check-ins, walks, and playtime. I manage feedings, medications, and offer plenty of love and attention throughout the day. Evenings are for more walks, cuddle time, and addressing any specific needs. My schedule is quite flexible and revolves around ensuring consistent and reliable care, making pet care a natural and fulfilling part of my life.

When caring for pets in my home, I ensure the pups feel comfortable and secure. I stick to their regular routine, providing timely feedings, walks, and playtime. I keep the home clean and safe, monitor their health, and administer any medications if needed. I also give plenty of love, attention, and cuddles to keep them happy and stress-free
A typical day
Your dog will be treated like they're part of my family. Since I work from home, they'll rarely be alone and will spend the day right by my side. Whether I'm working at my desk, relaxing, or taking breaks, they’re always included in my day. Many of my Rover pups love curling up on my lap while I work or napping beside me as I go about my day. I believe every dog deserves plenty of love and attention, so there are always cuddles, belly rubs, playtime, and regular potty breaks throughout the day. We enjoy peaceful walks around the neighborhood, exploring the beautiful trails near Terra Nova Park and the Fraser River, with plenty of opportunities to sniff, explore, and simply enjoy being outside. In the evenings, we wind down together with another walk before relaxing at home. If your dog is used to sleeping on the bed and you're comfortable with it, they're more than welcome to sleep with me. If they prefer their own bed or crate, I'm happy to follow their usual routine—my goal is to make them feel as comfortable and at home as possible. Every dog is different, so I tailor each stay to their personality, energy level, and routine. Whether your pup loves adventures, wants to play all day, or simply enjoys being close to someone, they'll receive patient, one-on-one care and plenty of affection from the moment they arrive until it's time to go home.
