I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 10 years old — it’s basically been a lifelong part of my life, not just a hobby. Over the years I’ve looked after my own family dogs through every life stage, from energetic puppies to gentle seniors, and I’ve also regularly cared for pets belonging to friends and family, so I’m comfortable adapting to different personalities, routines, and needs. Right now I share my home with a senior golden shepherd, so I have hands-on, everyday experience with the specific care senior dogs need — medication schedules, mobility considerations, extra patience, and a lot of gentle attention. If your dog is getting a little older too, you’re in good hands. I have a house with a fully fenced yard, so dogs get safe space to run, sniff, and play without being on a leash the whole time — plus a calm, comfortable home to relax in between activity. Schedule
I work from home, which gives me a lot of flexibility to weave pet care naturally into my day rather than squeezing it into a few rushed windows. Your dog won't be left alone for long stretches — I'm around throughout the day for potty breaks, playtime, and company. My typical day includes a morning/afternoon walks, regular check-ins and outdoor time throughout the day in the fenced backyard. Since I'm home most of the time, I can also adjust on the fly — accommodating a specific feeding/medication schedule your dog is used to. I also currently care for my own senior dog, so pet care is already a built-in part of my daily rhythm — your dog will simply become part of that routine, not an add-on.

Safety, trust & environment
Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priority. I have a fully fenced backyard, so dogs get plenty of secure outdoor time to run, play, and explore without being on a leash the whole time — I keep a close eye on them whenever they're outside. Indoors, your dog will have a calm, comfortable space to relax and be part of the household rather than isolated away. I'm happy to follow whatever setup your dog is used to. I currently live with my own senior golden shepherd, so my home is already a dog-friendly, pet-experienced environment — not a house being adapted for pets, but one built around them. Because of this, I always prefer to schedule a meet and greet before a new dog's first visit. This helps me get familiar with your dog's personality and needs, and just as importantly, makes sure they're comfortable and compatible with my own dog before any stay begins. It's a simple step that helps set both dogs — and you — up for a stress-free experience. I'm attentive to changes in behavior, comfortable managing feeding and medication schedules, and always reachable throughout the day since I work from home. Whether it's a day visit or an overnight stay, I treat every dog in my care with the same patience and attention I'd want for my own.

A typical day
The day usually starts with a morning walk to get some energy out, followed by regular check-ins and outdoor time in the fenced backyard throughout the day. In the afternoon, there's typically another walk or play session, along with plenty of downtime to relax indoors. Since I'm home most of the time, I can easily adjust on the fly — sticking to a specific feeding or medication routine your dog is used to.

- Every dog is different, so before your pet's first visit, it helps me to know a few key things so I can give them the best care: Feeding schedule — what, when, and how much they eat, plus any food allergies or sensitivities Medication needs — dosage, timing, and how they prefer it given (in food, by hand, etc.) Walk routine — how often, how long, and their comfort level with leash walking Behavior with other dogs — friendly, shy, needs slow introductions, or prefers to be the only dog Triggers or anxieties — loud noises, being left alone, specific fears, or separation anxiety Favorite things — toys, activities, or comfort items that help them settle in (a blanket or toy from home always helps!) Emergency contact & vet info — in case I ever need to reach you or their vet The more I know upfront, the more I can make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and truly at home during their stay with me. I always recommend a meet and greet beforehand too, so we can go over all of this in person and I can get a feel for your dog directly.
