Pet care experience

I am here to help, care, and cuddle

I have always had pets and wanted more pets than I was allowed since I was a kid. I continued to be a pet parent as I moved out on my own, and still wish to have more pets than I could afford :) Enjoying taking care of animals got me my first pet job at the dog daycare facility a decade ago. Then I moved to an all-pet boarding facility where I worked for three years and was promoted to an assistant manager. I am also passionate about dog obedience - I got ABC certified in 2020. While I attended school in Arizona for 4 years, I worked at the vet clinic where I cared for dogs and cats every day! My experience in the veterinary field taught me how to administer medications (vitamins, supplements, tablets, capsules, injections [Insulin, Adequan, etc.], ear drops, eye ointments - you name it, I have done it all) and to be first aid/CPR certified. I am back in Black Hills and would love to help you! My love for all animals, passion for caring and helping, extensive and expanding knowledge, and years of experience make me a perfect candidate for all your pet-related needs!

Safety, trust & environment

Drop-in visits: one session of 30+ minutes includes a let out (for dogs) as soon as I come in, and the last thing before I leave; fresh water, feeding, medication, pets, cuddles, and poop cleanup. Overnight stay: I arrive in the evening and stay for 10+ hours to provide the necessary help discussed before booking, including sleepover and morning care. For multiple-night stays, I check in 2+ times in a day if I need to leave your house. I like to provide mild exercise in the comfort of your own home to reduce pets' anxiety and energy build-up. Dog walks and dog training are additional services and need to be discussed in advance. [Unavailable] Boarding: Your pup will stay at my house with my two 30-lb fixed and playful dogs and my partner. I provide the same love and care for all the dogs under my roof, including secure potty breaks in the grass area. One household at a time. Crate-training is encouraged but not required. Your dog will benefit from dog walks every other day and mental exercises. Dog training is an additional service and needs to be discussed in advance. Dog walk: Your pooch will go on a timed adventure around your neighborhood. If your dog has a favorite route, I encourage you to share that with me :) Harnesses and head halters are highly appreciated! We will make sure they fit your dog just right! Don't be afraid to ask if I have those in your dog's size, as I can use my own tools. No retractable leashes or choke chains; prong collars are also discouraged, but could be utilized after a proper discussion and per your trainer's recommendations. Any returning client and pet will receive a discount for a training evaluation/session, if you would like to discuss certain behaviors or are looking for advice! Please ensure the current Rabies vaccine, ID tags, microchip registration, and contact information, and your veterinarian are on file with Rover/me for all services provided.

Roxy did a wonderful job. She arrived at her meet and greet very professional and was very thorough with gathering info on how to care for our critters. While we were gone she send pictures several times a day and left the house very clean when she left. We will definitely be using her again!

Dog Walking • Nov 07, 2025

Fantastic experience! She walked my dog for a full hour and even came prepared with her own harness, which I really appreciated. She was patient, professional, and clearly experienced with dogs. My dog loved her and came back happy and relaxed. Definitely recommend her!

I've known Roxy for at least 10 years. She is such a caring and compassionate person who has worked with animals in a professional role as long as I have known her, if not longer. She is so knowledgeable, patient, and cares deeply about animals. My dog loved her, and yours will too! 🙂

As of right now, I have a couple of part-time jobs, which leaves me somewhat open. I respect your needs and those of your pets, and to accommodate your plans, I'll need to know well in advance when I need to adjust my work schedule. Full-time care comes with full-time fees. My rates are based on my experience and knowledge. Message me to discuss your pet's care plan, needs, and schedule so I can make adjustments to accommodate you as much as humanly possible. I am open to additional service if mentioned in the request, so we can modify the cost accordingly.
