I'd love to take care of your pet
I'm experienced in caring for both cats and dogs, and especially passionate about giving excellent care to older and/or medically complex pets. I love the wide variety in cat behaviour, whether they are happiest just existing in the same room, or sitting on my lap, I am always happy to take care of them. While I love all types of dogs, I'm best suited to dogs with less intensive exercise needs, such as smaller breeds or elder dogs. I also have experience taking care of reactive dogs. For drop-ins and dog walks, I may be able to offer a discounted rate in the LA1 3 and LA1 4 areas. As Rover does not allow me to set holiday pricing outside of bank holidays, I may need to manually apply a price increase of £10 a day for housesits during more high-demand periods, such as school holidays. I am sometimes able to offer discounted rates for customers in financial hardship requiring pet care due to an emergency. My first proper petsitting experience was taking care of my neighbour's cat when they went on holiday. Even once her owners were back from holiday, we got into a routine where she would wait on the front doorstep every day for me to give her chin scritches. My interest in taking care of medically complex pets comes from personal experience, as my family dog suffered a spinal cord injury a few years ago. Luckily, after excellent vet care, he has an excellent quality of life and is very happy, just with shorter walks than before and regular pain-management medication. I'm very happy to take care of pets that need a little extra attention and support, whether that is with medication, toileting, pain management, reactivity, anxiety, and anything else your pet needs support with. If your pets are used to having people around most of the day, I recommend house sitting, as this guarantees your pet will receive love and care whenever they need it. I'll probably ask a lot of questions just to make sure their is minimal disruption to your pets regular lifestyle, and will of course send plenty of updates and photos while taking care of them.

I will care for your pets as you do! I trust that you know what is best for your pet, and will always to my best to minimise any disruption to their usual routine and lifestyle. I understand that some pets can find it stressful to be taken care of by a new person, so am always happy to do home visits ahead of your trip to make sure your pet knows and likes me - or at least, accepts my presence. I am also insured as a petsitter and dog walker, should any incidents occur. For safety reasons, I prefer to provide my own lead for walks - I will bring this along to a meet and greet so that we can check it's comfortable for your dog. If your dog (or cat!) has a usual walk route, I always appreciate it you can map it out for me.

Rowan looked after our dog Charlie for one week while we were on holiday. We are delighted that we chose her and would unhesitatingly recommend her. She took great care of him and was very attentive to his routine, which he needs as he is an elderly dog. It was especially pleasing that she kept us up to date with pictures, so we knew from day to day that he was very happy in her care. She is a thoughtful and considerate person and great with our fur baby.
We had a wonderful experience with our cat‑sitter Rowan over a long weekend. They took excellent care of our 12‑year‑old cat, giving her plenty of playtime, affection, and calm company. We really appreciated the regular updates and photos, which kept us reassured while we were away. The house was left tidy and just as we’d left it. Highly recommended
Rowan is a fantastic sitter. The first we've trusted to take care of all three of our pets at once. They are very thorough in ensuring they understand all the pets and their needs and keep us well updated which really helps us to relax when we're away.
Rowan came to us for the second time and she was excellent. She is so caring and considerate of my two eldery dogs, whilst still managing a very active pup. She spoilt them in all the good ways and I'm sure they missed her when we came home. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rowan. She came to our house and stayed over. We absolutely trusted her with our home and our pups.
Rowan was fabulous looking after our three dogs. She kept us informed and asked questions when needed, and sent lots of updates. We have one old dog who is a bit quirky and she managed him beautifully and didn't bat an eye at his eccentric ways. Our dogs were super calm when we arrived home, and were obviously very comfortable with Rowan. We would not hesitate to use Rowan again.
Rowan was brilliant with Truffle. I felt very at ease knowing she was being looked after. Rowan was very professional and made note of any instructions I had. I would definitely ask Rowan to look after Truffle again!

Schedule
I primarily work as a petsitter, alongside occasional knit and crochet commissions. This gives me full flexibility to work within your pets' usual routine, and dedicate as much time as they need to be happy, healthy and comfortable.
