Safe, Happy Home away from Home
I’ve raised dogs my entire life. (50 plus years). Dogs have very different personalities. It’s important to recognize that and adapt to their needs, likes and dislikes. My husband and I are retired with part time jobs we choose to work giving us great flexibility to plan around the needs of our dogs. Please feel free to request days I’ve marked unavailable. I mark those times far in advance. I like to camp a few days between Monday and Friday. These days are often flexible. **** SIZE LIMIT: the Rover app size setting choices are up to 15lbs, up to 40 lbs and then higher. I selected up to 40 lbs however, to protect my 7 lb pooch I won’t take dogs over 25 lbs ish. ******

We highly recommend Rosella as a very knowledgeable, caring, and attentive caregiver who totally loves her work with dogs and also understands them very well. This was our first time leaving our 14-month old Archie with anyone and we were a bit nervous. But when we met Rosella, we had immediate confidence in her knowledge of dogs and her values, which aligned with ours. We initially selected her, in part, because our dog is 12 lbs and she has two small dogs (and takes a maximum of 2 others), which felt like a good fit. We liked having a meet and greet where Archie got to meet her dogs and we got to meet her and see where he would be staying. When we dropped him off on his first stay, Rosella welcomed and integrated Archie in a way that ensured the well being of all the dogs present (her two plus one more). Over the next 5 hours she sent multiple photos and 2 videos. Rosella is very respectful of and caring about the uniqueness of each dog and their needs. From all our interactions, it was evident how much Rosella loves dogs, in all their individuality and development stages! This love just emanates from her! She really enjoyed our dog and seeing his interactions with the other dogs. When we picked him up he was happy to see us but not overly anxious to leave. He was exhausted, though, from all that fun! Part of our goal was to help him learn how to play with other dogs, as he can be quite intense in his energy in the start. Rosella’s dogs were perfect for that! We also wanted him to learn to be away from us, too, and he was very happy to be there. Her lovely home and large fully fenced yard make for a wonderful and safe experience. We look forward to leaving him with Rosella in the future and our next step will be a trial overnight stay. We have full confidence that he will be safe and loved.

Schedule
Our dogs enjoy morning and evening walks in the Kenna Park area. We often travel by car to Peterson Creek or McConnell Lake for afternoon walks Meal time is usually between 7-8 am and 4-5 pm. They enjoy potty breaks in the back yard every 2-3 hours. Rest time can be on a patch of grass in the back yard, bed on the deck, a comfy chair, kennel or dog bed in the living room.

Safety, trust & environment
Our home has a beautiful fenced yard and neighbours great walking trails. Our 2 little dogs are great companions. We use gated rooms or kennels if separation is required. Your fury friend should come with their well fitted harness for walks and one of their blankets to help them feel secure. There’s no children living in our home. Occasionally, we have grandchildren visiting.
Pets
A typical day
Breakfast is between 7 and 8 am. Morning walk before 10 am. Dinner between 4 and 5 pm. Evening walk between 7 and 9 pm. We live two blocks from great casual waking trails and bird sanctuary in Dufferin. This is a great place for an am and pm walk. We often go by car to Peterson Creek near 7-11 on Summit Drive. ****.For safety all walks are on leash- (harness please). Our picturesque fenced back is a great place to play or relax in the shade by the pond or in the shade under the deck. We are snowbirds so I’m not available during the winter months (November through mid April).
