Pet Care | Special Needs

Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I currently have six pets of my own, three of whom are rescues, and over the years I’ve cared for everything from dogs and cats to horses, ducks, alpacas, and more. I’ve taken in numerous stray and unwanted animals over the years, giving them a safe, loving home and, in several cases, caring for them through the end of their lives. Because of this, I’m very comfortable with senior animals and pets who need a little extra patience and attention. I also have extensive hands-on experience caring for animals with medical needs, including diabetes, chronic inflammatory bladder conditions, and a spinal injury following a car accident. I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions, administering oral medications and injections, managing prescription diets, and keeping a close eye on changes in an animal’s behavior or wellbeing. Most importantly, I truly love animals. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care, and I’ll treat your animals with the same patience, attention, and affection I give my own.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I care for pets exclusively in their own home, where they’re most comfortable. I understand that every animal has a different personality, routine, and set of needs, and I’ll follow your instructions closely — including feeding schedules, walks, medications, prescription diets, and any special care requirements. I’m comfortable with senior pets, rescues, shy or anxious animals, and pets with medical needs. I have experience administering oral medications and injections and caring for animals requiring more involved daily care. I’m attentive to changes in behavior, appetite, bathroom habits. Most importantly, I’ll treat your pets and your home with the same care and respect I would want someone to give my own.

I am very happy to recommend Rory for anyone looking for someone to care for their pets. She has an incredible love for animals, and caring for them is truly a huge part of who she is. She has always had pets of her own, and they are absolutely her family. She is very attentive, patient, loving, and always puts their needs first. She would go above and beyond to make sure an animal is safe, comfortable, happy, and well cared for. She also has experience as a Whelper, helping raise and care for newborn puppies and their mother until the puppies were ready to go to their new homes. This experience gave her an even deeper understanding of the patience, responsibility, and dedication involved in caring for animals. I would trust her completely with the care of my pets, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Any animal in her care would be very lucky to have her.

It is My personal belief that rue would be a great fit for any pet in any home. She has looked after both my German Shepherd and my Italian greyhound mix in my home and in her home. At the time she cared for my German Shepherd. He was suffering from a very serious condition called mega esophagus and she didn't even flinch to use his high chair. Feed him on a crazy schedule and just go above and beyond to take care of him with his special needs. My dog Daisy has severe separation anxiety and she's not afraid to just get in there and deal with her issues. I am also extremely particular about the way I keep my home and she has never let me down. She puts everything in its place. She's extremely tidy and always a great guest while dog sitting. I've known her for years and she has faced every type of illness and had just about every type of pet that exist from the smallest hamster to the biggest dog. It is my personal opinion that Rory would be a tremendous asset to anybody looking for a pet sitter or a home sitter. I give her five out of five stars every time she knows what she's doing. She has the experience and she has the love and desire. I've never met an individual who loves animals more and they love her back, which I think is the most critical part.

Rory would be an excellent fit for Rover because, out of all the people I know, she genuinely cares for animals in the way they deserve to be cared for. Throughout the years I've known Rory, she has done so much not only for her own pets but also for animals in need. She has rescued multiple cats from life as strays. For instance, she found a feral cat at a local store and transformed it into one of the sweetest companions. Rory has made significant sacrifices for her animals, whether it’s putting them on specialized diets or taking them in for surgeries, regardless of the cost. She is the ideal candidate for your program, as she is one of the few people I would trust with my own pets.

I’d love to know about your pet’s normal routine, personality, favorite activities, feeding schedule, medications, and any special needs. Please also let me know about any fears, triggers, allergies, medical conditions, behavioral concerns, or quirks I should be aware of. The more I know about your pet beforehand, the better I can keep them comfortable, safe, and happy while you’re away.
