Pet care experience

Wide range of medical/nursing care

Hi! My name is Ronnie, and jointly with my spouse who has also been in the field, we have boarded & hosted daycare in our home. We just moved and would like to start building our clientele even further. We are both very experienced in pet sitting. For the past six years, I have dedicated my life to the care and well-being of dogs and cats at every stage of life from fragile newborns to cherished seniors. My experience spans both general veterinary practice and high-volume shelter environments, giving me a deep understanding of medical, behavioral, and emotional needs. In a general practice setting, I have provided hands-on support to veterinarians, ensuring that patients receive thorough exams, treatments, and follow-up care. In the shelter field, I have assisted in managing the care of animals arriving from diverse and often challenging backgrounds, including those who have been neglected, abandoned, or are fearful of human interaction. My surgical experience includes working alongside doctors to assist with 25+ surgeries a day, maintaining a fast-paced, highly organized workflow while ensuring each animal’s safety, comfort, and recovery needs are met. I am skilled in pre- and post-operative care, monitoring anesthesia, and providing gentle handling during moments of stress or vulnerability. Whether bottle-feeding orphaned kittens, offering enrichment for long-term residents, or patiently building trust with animals showing signs of fear, reactivity, or aggression, I always approach my work with empathy and respect for the individual needs of each animal. I pride myself on being both loving and attentive, noticing subtle changes in behavior or appetite that may indicate a need for intervention. I have worked extensively with dogs that display escape behaviors or aggression, applying patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement to help them feel secure. Every animal in my care is treated as if they were my own, and I believe that compassion, trust, and understanding are the foundation for helping them thrive, whether they’re still learning the ropes or enjoying their golden years.

We had an urgent medical situation and Ronnie was caring and flexible with us supporting our needs and uncertainty for dropping her off and picking her up. It was such a comfort being able to know Savannah was cared for while we focused on our situation. Savannah was so happy when I dropped her off she ran to the door in complete excitement. She loves going to Ronnie’s and spending time with his family and is loved there.

Savannah was so happy staying with Ronnie and his family! She was loved on and was at her home away from home. We will definitely have her stay with him again!

Today was our dogs first visit and this experience was amazing! Both hosts are fantastic and I’ve never used Rover or people that are not family to watch our dog and my husband and I are absolutely thrilled to find a family so great! They went above and beyond to take excellent care of our sweet old dog! I highly recommend them and will be using them for all of our future needs!

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in my home, I create a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment tailored to each animal’s needs. This includes maintaining a consistent feeding schedule, providing plenty of fresh water, regular potty breaks, daily exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation. I ensure they have cozy, clean spaces for rest and always supervise interactions to keep them safe and happy. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their specific instructions closely to maintain the animal’s normal routine, reducing stress and keeping them comfortable in their familiar surroundings. This may include feeding, walking, litter box cleaning, administering medication, grooming, and offering companionship. I also provide updates, photos, and videos so clients have peace of mind while they’re away. Additionally, I only house one family at a time as a prevention to any potential fights that can breakout. Multiple pets from the same household are welcome, and I do house cats as well. Please keep in mind with cats, they do take some time to warm up to new surroundings and can potentially be stressed during the first couple of days.

A typical day

I do have a large fenced backyard, and have a park right near my house! I love doing stimulation, and will tire out your pets diligently depending on the needs of the breed.

Please let me know if your pet has any special needs, or behaviors I need to account for. I do take extra precaution when boarding high risk pets that tend to dash out.
