Pet care experience

🐾Stay at home pup and plant mom🐾

I was about 7 1/2 when I started caring for my first pet. We had family pets already. This little hamster; whose favorite activity was to keep me up all night repeatedly lifting and dropping his door, just because he could; was all mine. Bless his heart 😂 Since then, I don’t think I’ve spent much time without a pet to care for. Either my own, friends/family, foster/rescue, or just a baby bird shoved out of its nest. I helped my mother raise and train Australian shepherd puppies. I’ve raised and trained my own pups as well. Pitbull, Miniature Pinscher and currently my Chipoo puppy. In addition I also have experience with multiple other breeds of dogs, cats, birds, rodents, reptiles, fish, goats, pigs, chickens (also a bird lol). I am comfortable administering medication (including injections) and I have experience caring for senior, ill and disabled/special needs dogs; with both my own pets, and pets that have been left in my care. My min pin was my oldest baby. In her last few months, she had seizures and a stroke that left her in need of many changes and accommodations in her care routine. We lost her August 8th, 2024 at almost 17. My youngest girl, my mini aussie, was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer shortly after she turned 10 in October 2024. It was advanced (though she was a strong girl ❤️‍🩹 and never complained) and we lost her less than 2 weeks later 💔 My pitbull (my first fur baby as an adult) made it to almost 16 before she passed.

Rochelle is fantastic and very flexible. She helped me while my mother was having surgery and was completely accommodating. Would recommend to everyone. I’m from out of town and am glad to know she is here.

Schedule

Rover is my main focus, and I do it from home full time. I can be available for drop-off/pick-up between 7:00am and 10:00pm (I do make accommodations for other times, depending upon circumstances) both weekdays and weekends. My husband works from home, so he is also here full-time. My adult son lives with us and loves helping out when he is not outside the home working. Between the three of the doctors us we can always have someone available to play, watch after, and care for your doggo’s needs.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced in yard that is visible from inside the house through large windows in the kitchen, dining and living rooms. I have a security system with cameras that view the outdoor areas as well. When going out onto the back patio there is a path that leads to our outdoor dog play/potty area. There is fencing lining the whole concrete path, guiding the dogs out to their playground. The dog area itself has a 6 foot gated entry fence running from the path to the back main fence. The play area has little windows that allow the dogs to look out towards the front of the house and the side yard. We plan on adding some more permanent amenities to this area as time passes. The majority of the time the gates to the potty/play areas are left open so that they can be freely accessed by doggie door. I have a dog of my own, and several that I watch regularly, so your dogs will have company when they come over. My dog thinks everyone who comes over is here for him, and absolutely loves making new friends 😃 Inside the house I have a doggie playroom. Here they have plenty of toys (at least they start here lol). There is a TV that I leave on playing soothing music videos that show dogs walking/playing/out in nature. This is also where they eat. I set up crates so everyone has their own personal space to eat in. There is a gate on the doorway, so it can be used as a separate area if I have a dog/dogs that need one, otherwise the gate here also remains open and they will have free roam of the house as if it were their own.

Pets

A typical day

Depending upon personality, a day could go many different ways for your pup. I have a collection of toys available for play. We can throw balls in the yard (or the house), play in the water if it’s hot (and they like that) or just run around and get some exercise. My pup and I also like to walk the neighborhood and sniff flowers by some of the creeks. If we’re tired from all this, or if we’re just feeling lazy, we can flop down on the big couch for snuggles and/or a nap.

Ultimately, like I would tell my kid parents when I ran childcare, any information that helps me take care of your babies while they are with me is important information. Could be as simple as a favorite toy, ways to be comforted, or favorite treats. Or could be more in depth special needs, health issues, behavioral quirks/issues, anxieties. The more I know about your pet, their personality and regular routine, the better I can make their stay with me!!
