I am a virtual mental health counselor, so I will be at home with your pets all day. I DO need you to have good enough WiFi to meet with clients via Zoom. (Download: 20 Mbps. Upload: 5 Mbps.) If you are wondering why I want to petsit… I am still in my prelicensing years as a counselor and we don’t make very much money during these years. I also write books and web content, so I enjoy the opportunity to get out of my own house to write with fewer distractions. Just the good ones - pets! I have been using Trusted Housesitters for the past year to do local getaways to stay in houses with hot tubs for free in exchange for pet care. I just realized I should be petsitting through Rover and supplementing our income so I can buy my own hot tub. ;)

I’m a seasoned, responsible adult with a 5-star rating on Rover and Trusted Housesitters over several years, so you can trust me with your pets. I will communicate any unforeseen issues promptly and handle them in a responsible way. If your pet has a medical emergency, I would cancel my work for the day to get them emergency care immediately. I have a Subaru Outback (all-wheel drive) that is pet friendly and can handle snow and off road driving. Unfortunately, I do not have a hitch, so if I need to haul anything larger than a dog, I would need to use your vehicle/trailer. I can drive a manual transmission (stick shift).

Before booking, please let me know: - How many and what animals you have in your home, if different than what Rover shows. We can negotiate a custom rate if you have lots of animals! 💕 - Do you have a secure area for letting dogs outside? (I’m sorry - I can’t take dogs on walks to potty.) - Do you have strong enough Internet for Zoom meetings? - Do you have special needs pets (need help going outside or need meds or injections) or any other out-of-the-ordinary care requirements (cooking, feed raw, breeding, incontinence, farm animals?)
A typical day
I will be there for your pets in their own home and/or yard and keep your place running smoothly. I am happy to have pets with me while I work and I often work outside. My clients love to see new backgrounds during our calls, lol. I’m a home body, so I’m happy to play and cuddle with your pets and hang out or walk around with them on your property, but I don’t do traditional dog walks or hikes. My job takes a LOT of energy and I am neurodiverse, so I need to keep it pretty chill when I’m not working. Mucking stalls, collecting eggs, or even mowing isn’t a problem, it’s really about the social energy it takes to go off of your property. I would prefer to sleep without animals in the bed, but would consider it if they are well-trained and won’t walk on or wake me up (looking at you, cats!) We crate our dogs at night, and since we used to petsit in our home, I am used to feeding pets separately when needed. If I am staying at your place over a weekend, my husband will likely join me for part of a day and/or I may go out to see friends one evening, but otherwise I will be at your house a majority of the time.

Hi! We’re Robin and Michael. We will love and care for your pets as if they were our own. We used to petsit in our own home, but we have puppies right now and can’t do that. So we are offering services in others’ homes. Depending on where you live, you will get either one of us (never both of us, lol). Robin is a mental health counselor who practices virtually and Michael has a hybrid WFH job in Fort Collins, so one of us will be home with your pets most of the time. Please Note: We can’t offer dog walks, so we don’t sit for dogs in condos/apartments without a secure, private yard. We own 5 dogs and 2 cats of our own and we are hobby breeders, so we have tons of experience. We have also owned many aging pets and have cared for dogs with special needs. Robin also has experience with chickens, horses, and livestock. If you have more than 3 animals total or a mix of animals other than dogs, our fee is negotiable and dependent on the care levels needed, so please reach out! Rover fees don’t allow for all situations and the multiple pet fees build up quickly. I get it - we negotiate fees for our own menagerie when we travel.

Robin is a lovely human! We felt so comforted knowing she was caring for our pups and our home while we were away. Both of our dogs really bonded to Robin and Michael. And Robin working from home was such a bonus for our anxious boy. We look forward to working Robin and Michael again!
Robin was phenomenal and made us feel at ease while we were out of town. Our pup was completely comfortable with her, and we came home to a spotless house. We’ll absolutely be booking with her again if/when she's available!
