Pet care experience
Let us love your pets!
My wife and I have had dogs of our own for over 20 years and would love to take care of your best friend! We lost our most recent a while back and started on Rover because we weren't ready for a new dog but missed having canine company around. We have experience with dogs of all ages (puppy to palliative) and would love to shower all of our pent up affection on your pets. If you're looking for sitters who will treat your dog like they would their own, then we're your dog's temporary people.

Rob and Mary were wonderful! They made sure that Willow was comfortable and happy. They took her on lots of walks and sent us photos and updates daily. Willow had a great time with them, we will definitely book with them again.

Rob & Mary are great! Super responsive and our border collie loves spending the day with them!

Schedule
We both work primarily from home and can give lots of attention to your pet. I'm self-employed and that gives me a ton if flexibility in my work day. We take breaks frequently and would likely hang out on the deck or in the back yard with or without your pet. We only take 1 dog at a time unless they're from the same household or it seems like a perfect match with a dog we know well (in which case we'll thoroughly discuss it with you beforehand and only proceed if you're on board). We do leave the city for the majority of the winter and so are not generally available from January-April. We keep our calendar closed for those months but if you're looking for dates at the start or end of that time feel free to drop us a message as there's usually some flexibility in our departure and return dates. We are located just a bit south-east of St. Clair and Oakwood and I also offer dog walking and drop-in visits in North-West Toronto. However, we might not be best suited if you're looking for a long-term dog walker due to our time away in the winter. We also have a vehicle and offer drop-off and pick-up for a reasonable fee (within about a 20 km radius) if you're looking to reduce some stress before travelling.
Where your pet will stay
Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
We live in the large ground floor apartment of a multi-floor home. Plenty of space for zoomies. There's a small set of stairs down to the large but unfenced back yard. We have a tether back there so your dog can chill with us and have a bit of freedom (though we would never leave them unattended). When your pet is with us, your rules are our rules. If you allow your pups on the furniture or bed, so do we. If you don't, then we don't. We'll do our utmost to follow any training protocols so that your pet doesn't come home with any bad habits or setbacks in their training. We do have a general rule that we never take dogs off-leash. We make an exception for fully enclosed spaces and dog parks, but only with your permission and once we've built trust and a relationship with your dog. Because we have neighbours above and below, we can't take dogs who have seperation anxiety or bark frequently. Regular everyday barking is fine (dogs are dogs and we know the mailman is the sum of all evil), but we might not be the best fit if your dog barks consistently. If your dog does have separation anxiety and can't be left alone we may be able to discuss ways to accomodate for it, or commit to constant care at an increased rate.
A typical day
I like to run frequently and if your dog wants to come with, I'm all in. If they're more chill they can hang in the background of my wife's work calls. Regardless they'll get pee breaks every few hours, at least one long walk a day, and as much tug-of war and snuggles as they can handle.
Prices include all fees.
