Hi, I’m Rita, the person behind The C Cat Sitting. Cats have been an important part of my life and have played a big role in shaping who I am today. I share my home with three lovely cats, though if I’m honest, it often feels like I’m simply living in their house and they kindly allow me to stay! Each of them has their own unique personality, and living with them has taught me patience, compassion and a deep appreciation for every cat’s individuality. After years of being the trusted cat sitter for friends and family, and seeing the reassurance it brought both them and their pets, I realised I wanted something more meaningful than the typical 9–5 path. I wanted to build a career doing something that truly brings me joy. Turning my natural love for cats into my own business felt like the perfect way to create a more fulfilling path while providing dedicated, compassionate care for cats and peace of mind for their owners. For the past year and a half, I’ve also volunteered at the RSPCA as a cat cuddler, supporting cats while they wait for their forever homes. This experience has been incredibly rewarding. Helping them feel safe and watching them slowly begin to trust again is truly special, a beautiful reminder of the healing power of love and patience. My friends often say I’m a bit of a “cat whisperer,” which I take as a wonderful compliment. Cats seem to naturally feel comfortable around me wherever I go. I believe this comes from respecting their boundaries and recognising when they want attention, and just as importantly, when they prefer a little space. I truly believe cats are happiest in the comfort of their own home, surrounded by familiar sights, smells and routines. My aim is to care for them in a calm, gentle and patient way so they feel safe and relaxed while you’re away. I don’t just pop in to feed and clean, I take the time to sit with them, give them attention if they want it, and make sure they feel comfortable. Every cat I care for is treated with the same love, respect and attentiveness that I give to my own. I am fully insured and DBS checked. Leaving your cat in someone else’s care is never a small decision. My goal is to provide the same level of dedication, kindness and reassurance that I would want for my own.
