I’ve been caring for animals from a small child. Many people have called me the Animal Whisperer because the connection I have with animals and many experiences with animals in my lifetime. Our family of three children has owned many dogs and cats giving me experience with pets of different personalities, needs, and routines. I understand that every pet deserves patience, kindness, and individualized care. Whether it’s going for a walk, playtime, feeding, or simply providing companionship. I’ll treat your pet with the same love, attention, and respect I’d give my own.

When caring for pets in your home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I’ll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, fresh water, medications (if needed), walks, litter box or yard cleanup, and playtime. I also understand that many pets simply enjoy companionship, so I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and reassurance while you’re away. I’ll treat your home with the utmost respect, keeping it clean, secure, and exactly as you left it. Throughout each visit or stay, I’ll send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

If I could give Richard more than five stars, I would. Leaving our beloved Oliver and Stella for a week while we traveled to Colorado was much easier because of Richard. He was incredibly kind, patient, and thoughtful, but what really stood out was his communication. He kept us updated on everything, from eating habits and supplements to potty breaks and sleeping arrangements. We never had to wonder how they were doing because Richard always let us know. He paid attention to details that mattered and genuinely cared about their safety. When the weather was extremely hot, he adjusted their routine accordingly and made sure they stayed comfortable rather than risking walks in unsafe temperatures. It was also clear that Oliver and Stella adored him. They cuddled with him, sat on his lap, and settled in beautifully. Those little updates meant the world to us and showed just how much love and attention they were receiving. Richard is exactly the kind of person you hope to find when trusting someone with your pets: caring, responsible, attentive, and genuinely invested in their happiness. We would absolutely book with him again and honestly hope he becomes our permanent sitter whenever we're away. Oliver and Stella give him two paws way up!

I have a golden doodle and when I moved from one house to another it caused a lot of anxiety for my dog as she was displaced for 20 days & didn't go back to her original home. Richard cared for my dog after she was relocated when I was doing a little traveling for work. Penny immediately felt comfortable with Richard--he was like a dog whisper. Richard is very responsible, kind and caring--he loves animals--I feel 100% confident when my dog is in his hands. He gets high recommendations from Penny and I!!
I have known Richard for about 20 years. He absolutely adores pets of all kinds and always has kindness in his manner with every animal he encounters. Personally, he has been a pet owner of several breeds of dogs and is a longtime owner of Doc, the parrot. Doc has many fans and has even been in several parades with Richard. He loves spending time with animals and loves to take care of them, keeping them on a feeding schedule as well as providing long walks, hugs, and of course time to play!!! My Golden always enjoyed visits with Richard especially the play time.

I’m a retired IT professional with over 45 years of customer service experience, which gives me the flexibility to work around your pet’s schedule and not the other way around. I’m dependable, punctual, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. In my free time, I love pickleball, walking, hiking, biking, whitewater rafting, music DJ, and volunteering in my community. An active lifestyle makes me a great companion for energetic pets, while my calm, patient nature helps shy or senior pets feel comfortable. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing with a caring companion, I’ll provide the attention, affection, and reliable care they deserve.
