Pet care experience

Full Time Dog sitter

I love dogs and was taking care of them before my business partner suggested Rover. I have a closed in backyard and fence and have provided from sr to disable to young pups from all different breeds. I walk run play feed (cook for the dogs upon special request) I also live right near a state park with two other rover sitters, so you’re dog will have 24 hour care. I’m currently in process of learning to become a certified trainer

House Sitting • jul. 05, 2026

This was our second experience with Richie and it was unfortunately extremely stressful. House sitting experience: We had booked him for a house sit from July 1-4 and he treated it more like drop in visits rather than a house sit. He left our dog alone for close to 7 hours during the day and told us that it had only been 4.5 when we checked in with him. We knew this because we have a ring camera. This was after he had assured us that he never leaves a dog alone for more than 4 hours. The same night he took our dog, his bed, bowls etc. and loaded him up into his car without informing us as to why he was being taken off our property. I called immediately when I saw on our ring camera and he told us that he was taking him to his house. The following day he told us that he would stay at our house overnight but left our dog alone all night. We found out later on our ring that he had left him alone overnight the first night too. None of this was previously agreed upon. This is not the first house sitting we have booked on rover so we know that this is not the norm. Sitter experience: Along with the overall lack of respect for the instructions we had given, Richie’s responses to us felt very condescending. Any concerns we raised were met with a “your dog is fine”. His idea of house sitting was to walk and feed our dog and then leave, which did not align with our expectations. We do not expect him to be there the whole day but definitely more 2 hours in a day. That is not the expectation with a house sitting. He also lied to us about staying overnight. We have never left a bad review for a sitter since we like to give the benefit of doubt but his unreliability and untrustworthiness has forced us write it in the interest of other pet owners.

Richard was a great dog sitter. Hank went on many walks and visited parks that we had not been to. We received many pictures and it was obvious that he was being well cared for.

Rich was great with my M&M sending me regular photos, videos and updates. My dog has seizures and Rich helped me feel comfortable that he could handle his medication and care if a seizure occurred. I will definitely book with him again.

Schedule

I have the privilege of having dogs being able to cover a large portion of my life expenses so I have a lot of time for our four legged furry friends. I work and I work out but I always give the dogs time attention and love via walks games and keeping them active. I also live near a beautiful forest and field so they have the opportunity to run and be free the way they should be!

A typical day

When your dog hangs out with me, it’s more than just pet sitting—it’s a mini vacation! We’ll go on long walks (tailored to their energy level), have play sessions with toys and puzzles, and get plenty of cuddle time. If they like the forest walks, we’ll make a trip there to sniff around and run wild . I also love working on simple tricks and games to keep their minds sharp. And of course, I’ll make sure they get all the belly rubs and love they can handle. Your pup’s happiness and comfort are my top priority!
