Pet care experience

Super fun, calm dog handler. Acres to play in!

Years of experience boarding dogs. Been a dog lover since I was old enough to beg for one as a kid! Never looked back. I live in a large house on an acre of land down a private road with fields and the Thames surrounding. Very well versed in dog behaviour and feel I command a confident and safe attitude when handling dogs.

Richard was amazing with our crazy doodle. I feel like we’ve hit the jackpot finding Richard and his super set up for doggos in his wonderful house by the lake. Richard has a great knowledge of dogs and was able to read our dog’s behaviour very well. He kept us informed throughout and sent pictures and updates. Thank you Richard!

Richard was fantastic yet again. My two old English Sheepdogs are so well cared for when they stay over and literally have the best time with Richard’s lovely dog and all the lovely four legged lucky guests at this five star set up. Fabulous pics shared with me which were amazing. Really happy to have found Richard’s services on Rover. It’s all about the dogs! Great service! Thank you once again!

Richard looked after our golden retriever Orla for the weekend and she had the best time!! Richard sent lots of pictures and kept us well updated on how she was doing and the activities they were doing too. She was literally smiling in all the pictures. We would highly recommend Richard and will definitely be returning to him in the future to look after Orla.

One of the best dog sitters we’ve ever used. Richard sent daily updates full of action photos - Zeke was not only well loved and looked after but had so much play time, activity, and different walks / hikes. Don’t think I could have found someone better suited to take excellent care of a large high energy dog with ease and make our vacation that much more relaxing not having to worry about our pup!

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced acre of land down a quiet private road with the Thames and fields nearby. I have a super happy friendly Australian shepherd that’s wonderful with all types of dog. I will always adhere to rules set by the owner with regards to risk off lead etc. Every dog is precious and safety is of the utmost importance. Dogs have the run of the house, happy to sleep upstairs or downstairs, whichever the owner prefers.

Pets

A typical day

Up early for a decent walk around the meads (depending on the dog being walked it’ll be around 5Km-8km), feed the ducks and make some new dog friends. Usually back before 8 for breakfast and naps. Around midday we’ll attempt some agility play in the garden with a little training thrown in. Depending on energy levels will go for a medium/long walk along the river to work up an appetite for din dins. Naptime again + great British bake off in the evening then Bed

To provide the best care possible, I'd love to know a few things ahead of time: • Daily routine - Feeding times, walk schedule, and sleep habits • Personality - Are they shy, playful, energetic, or laid-back? • Triggers or fears - Loud noises, other dogs, certain environments? • Training & commands - What cues do they know and respond to? • Health needs - Medications, allergies, or anything I should watch for • Social preferences - How do they do around other pets or people? The more I know, the more I can make your dog feel right at home, safe, and happy.
