Availability

I offer pet care part-time, and my availability stays consistent week to week. I’m usually available for midday and afternoon walks, early evening visits, and weekend care. House sitting and drop-ins for cats are the most flexible services for me to accommodate. Walks typically need to fall within my regular availability windows so I can give your dog reliable, on-time care. Booking about a week in advance works best so I can reserve the ideal times for your pet. If you ever have a special request or need to check a specific time, feel free to reach out I’m always happy to look ahead and see what I can fit in. Drop-ins, especially for cats, are often more flexible. These can usually be worked around my schedule more easily since they require shorter visit windows, and I’m happy to coordinate timing that suits both you and your pets. Evening availability is common, and weekends tend to be the easiest for longer services. If you have specific timing needs, feel free to reach out. I’ll always do my best to accommodate while keeping your pet’s routine safe and consistent.

Safety, trust & environment

Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or taking them out for a walk, safety and consistency always come first. I follow a calm, patient approach and adjust to each dog’s comfort level, routine, and energy needs. When walking your dog: • All walks are GPS-tracked through Rover, with a second log through Strava for accuracy. • I choose safe routes based on weather, traffic, and your dog’s confidence. • I carry fresh water and a portable dish during warmer months. • I use a secure double-check harness/collar routine before every walk. • I monitor body language closely and avoid situations that may cause stress or reactivity. In your home: • I respect your space as if it were my own. • I maintain your dog’s normal feeding, walk, and training routine. • I keep doors, gates, and access points secured at all times. • I provide gentle brushing, basic cleanup, and ensure your home is left tidy. • I can bring in mail, adjust lights, and handle small tasks for peace of mind. I take pride in creating a safe, calm, predictable environment for every pet — and clear communication for every owner.

Information Richard B. would like to know about your pet

To give your dog the best and safest experience, it helps to know: • Leash behaviour — pulling, reactivity, or if certain triggers (dogs, bikes, squirrels) cause excitement or stress. • Energy level & routine — how much exercise they typically get, and what pace they prefer. • Social comfort — whether they enjoy meeting other dogs or prefer personal space. • Any reactivity or quirks — nervousness, resource guarding, fear of loud noises, sensitivities, etc. • Medical needs — allergies, medication, mobility issues, or recent injuries. • Commands or cues you use (sit, wait, heel, leave it, etc.) so I can reinforce your training. • Feeding schedule & treats — what they can and can’t have. • Off-limit areas in your home, if applicable. The more I know, the better I can make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and understood from the very first visit.

A typical day

A typical day with me focuses on safe, structured fun and plenty of exercise tailored to your dog’s personality and energy level. I love getting dogs out for long, engaging walks, exploring quiet neighbourhood routes, nature paths, and open green spaces where they can sniff, observe, and enjoy the world at their own pace. I do not use off-leash dog parks. Not because I don’t trust your dog — but because I can’t control the behaviour of unfamiliar dogs or inattentive owners. My goal is always to keep your pet safe, relaxed, and confident, so all activities are done on leash unless you specifically request a secure fenced yard play session. Fun activities can include: • Long-distance walks or steady-paced exercise • Sniffari-style adventures (letting your dog explore scents) • Structured leash walks to burn energy safely • Playtime in your fenced yard • Mental enrichment games and training cues • Social walks with my dog Misiu (only if requested and personalities match) No matter the activity, the goal stays the same: a happy, enriched, tired dog who feels safe and content.

Pet care experience

I’m an experienced dog walker and pet caretaker with years of hands-on work with dogs of all sizes, energy levels, and personalities. I’m especially strong with high-energy breeds, large dogs, and pets who need longer walks to stay balanced and happy. My own dog, Misiu, was entrusted to me by a former client who felt he would thrive under my care, and he’s been with me ever since. What sets me apart is my commitment to professional, transparent, high-quality care: • GPS-verified walks using Rover and Strava • Outstanding communication with photos that clients consistently compliment • Experience managing multiple dogs safely • Ability to read dog body language and adapt to their comfort level • Calm, patient handling of reactive, anxious, or energetic pups • Above-and-beyond home care (mail, snow clearing, tidying when needed) My goal is simple: deliver a happy, tired, stress-free dog every time, and give owners complete confidence while their pets are with me.

Richard was great! Met our two quirky and energetic dogs the day before and instantly got along well with them. Took them for a huge walk and even gave them a massage afterwards. Will absolutely be booking with him in the future.
