I work remotely and I’m a total homebody, so your pet would have company pretty much all day. I genuinely love being around animals, and I’d be thrilled to have your little one hanging out with me, soaking up all the attention and care they want. I’m an early riser, too, which makes my schedule super flexible for whatever your pet needs.

I live in a cozy, secure studio in downtown Durham, just steps from some really lovely walking paths around Central Park. There’s a small dog park within easy walking distance, too. I’m also close to a vet, which gives a little extra peace of mind in case anything unexpected comes up. I have plenty of experience with special-needs pets, and honestly, they’re where my heart goes first.

Information Rian M. would like to know about your pet
I likely won’t need a sitter for my dog. He’s very old and has special needs so I like to be close by him. He’s a very sweet and lazy boy.
A typical day
I’m an early riser, so your dog can start the day with a nice walk around downtown before I settle in to work from home. Since I’m here all day, your pets will always have company. They’re absolutely allowed on the furniture, so expect plenty of cuddle time while I’m working. And because my schedule is flexible, we can fit in as many walks or breaks as your pet needs.

Pet care experience
I’ve spent years caring for pets, including traveling to stay in people’s homes, and it genuinely never stops being a privilege. I adore animals so much. I’ve worked with pets who have special needs like diabetes, daily IV fluids, post-surgery care, blind or deaf companions, and seniors who just need a gentler touch. I have a 17-year-old dog of my own, so I’ve got a real soft spot for the elderly ones. I’m patient, attentive, and truly love being someone’s ‘stand-in human’ while they’re away.

Rian was responsive, kind, and everything we were looking for in a sitter for our energetic puppy. We knew he was in caring hands. Rory says, Two Paws Up!

My min poodle Finn is often hesitant to go with strangers but he was happy to immeidately take off with Rian, no hesitation. She was really good with him and I'm not sure he wanted to leave LOL! I give her extra points because in spite of good directions and a GPS I was unable to find her building at drop off AND pick up! She is near a large and lovely park with lots of other dog walkers, which is a perfect environment for him. I really appreciated her photos, and her TLC for me as well as Finn.
Rian is turly the most animal-loving person I know. They care deeply for all animals, and it shows in how they care for them. Rhi took amazing care of my elderly dog, Tallie, many times. They are the only person I trusted to help with all of her medicine, including her twice a day insulin shots. I would trust Rhi to care for any pets in my life.
Rian is an amazingly sweet person, who I personally have seen give really deep and wonderful care to their animals, as well as to my beloved cat and even to wildlife. They are a responsible and kind person who shows up for their pets and will show up for yours! You can rest assured knowing that your pet will receive the best quality care they need if they’re in Rian’s hands. ☺️
