I've volunteered at my local shelter (in Florida), and I often visit shelters to give animals attention. When caring for pets—whether in my home or a client’s—I focus on giving each animal the kind of attention and interaction that fits their personality. I’m happy to provide all the pets, cuddles, and playtime they want, but I always let them set the pace. I love playing fetch, being chased (or doing the chasing!), and I’m comfortable engaging in a bit of rough play with larger breeds when appropriate to help them burn off energy. I always respect an animal’s space and let them approach me first. With cats, for example, I’ll take things slowly and use gentle cues like slow blinking to help build trust. Whether your pet loves being a lap companion or just wants a calm presence nearby, I’m attentive to their needs and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in any environment.

Rhys was wonderful! He kept us updated with adorable photos, took great care of our dogs, and left the house very clean. We felt totally comfortable knowing everything was in good hands. We would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful dog watcher!
Rhys is a very kind and loving individual. I think many of his friends and family would say the same. His love for our four legged friends is no exception!! Not sure if you know, but Rhys is park ranger which I think has given him the perfect set of skills and patience in order with work with animals and people alike. Rover would be lucky to have a very qualified candidate join their team and I am also sure that the compliments will pour in soon after 😀 Please do not let Rhys fall under the radar!!
Rhys is an attentive dogsitter who spends quality time with our dog. Rhys engages our dog in physical activity appropriate for an elder dog and mentally stimulating adventures in the outdoors. Rhys is also very conscientious of our home and keeping things tidy. Our dog gets very excited every time she sees Rhys—I think she looks forward to us leaving so she can get more “Rhys time.” I fully trust Rhys in my home and recommend him to other pet owners and folks that need housesitters.
Rhys has always been my go to person to walk/take care of my dog anytime I would have to travel out of town. My dog loves him and gets the zoomies every time she sees him.
Rhys took exceptional care of my dog, Luna. She has very specific needs and Rhys exceeded my initial requests for care. I would highly recommended Rhys for any and all pet care needs. He is now my go to dog sitter.
There are few people that I know in this world that love spending time with pets more than Rhys. I worked with Rhys in two national parks, and in both locations he quickly became the go-to in pet-sitting circles because of the level of care and love that he would provide. As a past work colleague, I recommend Rhys above and beyond his compassionate love of animals, because he is also an excellent communicator with a great work ethic. Your pet(s) will have all the cuddles and walks they could possibly desire!

Schedule
Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I live and work full-time in downtown St. Paul with a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide care on workdays—whether that’s walks, check-ins, or some quality time. On weekends, I’m able to dedicate full days to pet care. I love going on neighborhood walks and outdoor excursions when the weather’s nice, and I’d be happy to have your fur baby join me. I always meet each pet where they’re at, whether they need lots of activity or a little extra emotional support.
