There will be two of us taking care of your pup- Rhiannon AND Goober ABOUT RHIANNON I'm a lifelong animal lover and learner of all things animals. I am a former 4-Her with projects in Horse and Dairy and I worked as the Animal and Agricultural Science Coordinator for the UNH Cooperative Extension for a few years. I love all things animals- for us neuro-folks- animals would be my "narrow interest-hyperfixation-obsession" depending on your flavor :) They are my hobby and I experience great joy caring for, training, learning about, and being with animals. I've cared for all types of animals over the years, from being a horse trainer and owner, dog owner and trainer to small animals, cats and birds. My longest relationship with an animal was with my horse who I had for 30 years! (Yes they live that long). I have vaccinated my pets myself (through subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intranasally) over the years, including vaccinating our baby chicks! ABOUT GOOBER Goober is a 2 year old goober who loves friends, large and small. We would love to welcome your doggie as a guest in our home. We are close to the airport, making it easy to drop your pup off on your way out of town! There is a 7 year old in the home and we ask that your dog be respectful of kiddos. He is at his Dads every other weekend so you might be with us when he isn't there. Also, most dogs ignore the kid because Goober is the main attraction. I'm very experienced in animal care and will take the best care of your dog. I'll also offer suggestions and input in making your dogs experience the best possible experience. --- Hi! I'm Rhiannon and this is Goober. Goober is a 2 year old akita/pyrenees/super mutt mix who is playful, happy, eager to please and very energetic. He loves being our family dog but he misses playing with dog friends and would love a dog sleepover with your pup. He's friendly, easily corrected by more alpha dogs, and can't stop/won't stop (till nap time in his crate). I'm Rhiannon, and I have so much animal care experience it's not even funny. I owned a horse for 30 years! (We just said goodbye to him last year at 33) and have cared for all aged animals for decades. I had a special needs pug and I used to rover all the time other special needs dogs when she was alive. I'm comfortable with basic medical care/first aid and basic training. I have a pretty solid routine so your dog will be on a schedule! We decided to get back to some Rovering so that Goober could show his true Southern hospitality to other active and playful dogs when their parents work long hours or are out of town. We've had wonderful times with our Rover sitters and wanted to provide affordable and quality care when we were available. This is for fun for us! We would be looking for all types of dogs, from other active and playful dogs to senior pups and everyone in between. We'd love for your pet to come over and enjoy our fenced in backyard, long walks/rides in the nature preserve next to our neighborhood, South Walnut Creek Hike and Bike and Boggy Creek Greenbelt. Dogs are fed twice a day (that can be modified if necessary) have a relatively stable routine of eating, playing, walking, napping, sunning, eating, playing, napping, walking. If your pup has special needs, separation anxiety, or behavior related to being in another place, let me know! We can work together to ensure your dog doesn’t have behaviors that would hurt himself or harm property and ensure they have a relaxing time with us. I want your dog to be relaxed, chill, and be so excited to come to our house when y'all are busy or out of town. I can give subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, medication, basic first aid if necessary. Since most dogs don't LOVE younger kids, we ask for a meet and greet if you aren't sure about your dogs behavior with a kid and to make sure the vibe is good with Goober. but if your dog is comfortable with kids or we've sat for you before, then just book us! But I'm very cautious with all dogs and kids since MOST dogs find being around children stressful (that being said, PLEASE leash your dogs when you are around children in public parks and playgrounds and always supervise kids and dogs :) My son is educated in bite prevention and respecting dogs, but I'm very careful! I usually ask all non-neutered/spayed or not-yet neutered/spayed dogs and male dogs who have a history of marking to bring a belly band to have on hand so that my 100-year-old original hardwood floors and my cheap amazon carpets don't get tinkled on. Most male dogs do mark in the house initially since there is a another male dog in the house. It just makes the visit go smoother and is good to have on hand anyway. Easy to get one delivered by Chewy too in prep for an upcoming stay.

Rhiannon did an absolutely fantastic job watching our energetic 1.5-year-old pup, Moose, while we were out of town. She kept us updated with photos, videos, and regular check-ins, which gave us so much peace of mind. It’s clear she truly loves animals—she went above and beyond to make sure Moose was comfortable while also giving him the structure he needs as a high-energy “teenage” dog. Moose quickly built trust with her and was clearly happy and comfortable when we picked him up. Her sweet dog, Goober, was the perfect playmate and gave Moose plenty of healthy socialization and companionship throughout his stay. We will absolutely book with Rhiannon again—she provides top-notch care and we couldn’t recommend her more!
Rhiannon and her family was wonderful!! They met Bela and got to know her. They have a large gated backyard. They have no other pets. They took care of Bela as their own. They sent several photos and messages while we where away. The whole process was comforting and safe from COVID precaution point of view. We WILL contact Rhiannon again.
Rhiannon was beyond excellent! Leopold is a tender little old dachshund with old-dachshund aches and pains. He takes medicine throughout the day and needs to be handled attentively to avoid aggravating a back/leg issue that he has. A few days before our trip, he began to get finicky about eating -- very unusual for a dachshund -- which had us worried. His vet could not find anything wrong, so we decided not to cancel our trip and to trust Rhiannon's experience. Rhiannon was wonderful with him. Not only was she responsible with his medicine schedule, back/leg issues, and cuddle needs, she went the extra mile with his new eating issue. When necessary, she took the time to feed him little bits of food throughout the day to make sure he stayed nourished, and even shared her own dog's food with Leo to see if that made the difference. She paid attention to his general demeanor to discern whether he needed medical attention or was reacting to something else -- and she communicated with us the whole time so that we could be part of the decision making. She figured out that Leo had learned to recognize the taste of the medicine that gets mixed into his meals, and to associate it with his normal food so that he would not eat it even without the medicine. We are so grateful to Rhiannon for having the patience, compassion and skill to make sure that our little guy was well cared for, and for communicating well with us throughout the trip. We came home to a healthy Leopold who had clearly felt safe and cared for while we had been gone. We will definitely have Leopold stay with Rhiannon in the future and highly recommend her.
She was great with my 2 dogs. A pug and dachshund. when my 10 year old dachshund would not eat she really took her time to get her to eat, and even fed her a rice and chicken meal. They would go on daily walks, and got to spend a lot of time outside getting attention. She has an older pug that got along well with my dogs. She has experience taking care of older in need dogs as well.
The Pug Palace is the best! I have an 11 year old black pug named Silvie and whenever she stays with Rhiannon I know she is getting the very best care. Not only is the space well suited for older pugs, there is a ramp for the dogs to get in and out of the house! She takes daily walks with Silvie and sends photo updates of other daily activities. I highly recommend Rhiannon to watch your dog.
Rhiannon was incredible! I have a high needs old pug so it can be hard to find someone to care for her correctly. Rhiannon was able to provide dedicated compassionate care in a very professional manner. It was obviously she has a deep understanding of dogs and their diverse needs. If you want someone you can trust and that will give your little one the best possible care then hire her!

Schedule
I work from home so the doggie will rarely be home alone and if I do have to go somewhere, I'll schedule them to nap while I'm gone in between play sessions. Please ensure your dog is crate trained and provide a crate (if you don't have one, I do have some). If you dog prefers to be gated in a place like a bathroom or laundry room, I have gates too. Kongs/Woof toys will be given whenever I leave so it actually is an enrichment time for them. I try not to leave new dogs home alone until they are comfortable in the house- I want them to have a good stay! And if I do I often bring them for a car ride. Here is a recent schedule from a sit I did: 6:30-7:30 am: Wake Up, Backyard Play Time, Breakfast 7:30 - 9 am: Play and Morning Walk 9 - 9:30 am: Enrichment in crate (Woof) 9:30 am - 12 pm: Morning Nap (in crate) Between 12 pm - 2 pm: Indoor Play and Outdoor backyard time 2 - 2:30 pm: Enrichment in crate (Woof) 2:30 pm - 5 pm: Afternoon Nap (in crate) 5 - 6:30 pm: Backyard play and indoor play 6:30 pm - 8 pm: Evening Walk 8 pm and on: Bedtime (in crate)

Safety, trust & environment
The safety of the humans are the utmost priority for our household, that is why we ask for a meet and greet if you are unsure how your dog will be in our house. But we do hope to build long term sitting relationships with folks because we do really love dogs and Goober does get lonely and wants his buddies. It is essential that my clients entrust me in taking the best care of your dog, and I think you'll get to know me quickly that the dogs truly have "the life" at my house. The environment is dog safe, with a fenced in back yard, and the house is kid/dog proof. There ARE chickens but they have a separate, secure run and will not be coming into contact with your dog. Goober tries to catch them and then pluck the feathers out of their butt, so as long as your dog isn't a "proven" chicken killer, we should be good. If your dog is like Goober and has a strong prey drive and looking for a snack, I just keep the chickens in their coop when your dog is out in the backyard (usually dogs get backyard morning and evening. Chickens get their run during the day). Let me know if you dog can scale a 4 ft. fence!

A typical day
Here is a typical day for Goober to give you an idea of what the routine is like: Summer Schedule Wake up at 6:30 am, breakfast, meds, and backyard time Go to Park for a long walk while kid is at swim team practice, 8-9 am Drop kid off at camp, 9 am - 10:00 am Backyard play 10 am - 10:30 am NAP 10:30 am - 12:30 pm 12:30 - 1:30 pm, backyard play time and then playtime inside, enrichment NAP 1:30 - 3:30 pm 3:30 pm, Afternoon snack and meds 3:30 - 5:30 pm, backyard play time and then playtime inside, enrichment 7 ish or later (it's so hot)- walk in the park 10 pm- night meal and bedtime Goober is young, so he needs a routine and a lot of exercise. We use the Fi dog collar and make sure he gets the steps he needs. He's #15 out of Akitas!
