Availability

I work full-time so I am available for walks or drop-ins at lunch (12:00-13:00 on select WFH days in BSE) or walks or drop-ins after 4:30 on weekdays. However, as I work from home two weekdays so these are more flexible but change weekly. However, this can mean that it is difficult to commit to weekly lunchtime walks unless local to Bury St Edmunds! 🙁 On the weekend I am available all day for walks and drop-ins pending availability. House-sits are far better fit into my schedule, as I am available throughout the week! but please note that the 3 days I am not working from home (typically a Tues, Weds, Thurs - although flexible if needed!), I can provide care in the morning (pre-6:30 for BSE and pre-7:30 Cambridge) and then when I return from my Full Time Job (post 16:30) My Cambridge-based clients - although I've moved to Bury St Edmunds and I had time away due to an injury, I'm back kicking and I still miss all my Cambridge clients! Please know that I'm still available for bookings, as I can cater to furry friends before 7:30 or after 16:00 on my office days! Send an enquiry and I will always do my absolute best to accommodate! 🐕🐈

When taking walks I like to know any potential triggers for your dog so that I can plan the walk appropriately and additionally know how to respond if they are triggered. In the home I like to be aware of any areas your dog or cat is not permitted to enter (I.e upstairs or on the couch) so I can continue to adhere to these guidelines! We all know how some dogs/ cats can be a bit mischievous when owners are away! I prefer to set up meet and greets before any walks or drop ins, to get to know your animals and so that they get to see me in your space! This is also a great time for you to ask any questions you may have for me and visa versa!

Information Rhian G. would like to know about your pet

If your pets have any extra requirements such as medicines (topical or oral), or has any chronic medical conditions then just let me know ahead of time. Additionally, if there is any extra monitoring required such as the volume of water drank/food eaten etc, let me know. It would be handy to know if there are any behavioural issues to be aware of (Reactive triggers or whether there are interactions between multiple animals in the home) so I know whether to keep them separate or just so that I’m aware of situations that could arise and will therefore do what I can to prevent them! Some dogs are much more wary of being walked with new people/having new people in their homes. Therefore, I am more than happy to do a meet and greet to help more nervous dogs. I am happy to provide updates through Rover but also just generic updates and photos as you wish, as I personally find it comforting to have a lot of updates when my past pets have been petsat. If there are any triggers for your dogs such as other dogs or bikes etc. Let me know ahead of time (this will likely be asked in the M&G!) so I can plan a walking route that would hopefully cause as little stress as possible.

A typical day

I really think it's important to stimulate all dog and cat needs, not just the physical! I love to play all types of games whether it be tug, fetch or prey-driven activities to stimulate the physical needs as well as the mental needs. I think it’s crucial that our pet’s mental needs are also met too! This can look like hiding treats, puzzle toys, re-enforce training etc. I’m a strong believer that a lot of dogs and cat separation anxiety can be alleviated by making sure both these needs are met and I have a host of tricks up my sleeve; ranging from frozen kongs to encourage self-soothing behaviours, and creating safe spaces for cats to shelter in.

Pet care experience

Hello! Thanks for stopping in on my page. My name is Rhian! I have grown up in a house with animals my whole life and I am DBS checked. I love being around animals (dogs in particular but cats have a space in my heart too!) and giving them as much love as they give to us! I cannot currently have a pet of my own so I would enjoy giving your’s some love and attention! Available services are based on your needs. I can walk your pet and reinforce the training you are doing at home; drop in to play with your furry friend, or let out to the garden, feed, or even bathe. This is not only limited to dogs and cats as I have experience keeping lizards (bearded dragons and leopard geckos) as well as fish (from your Bettas to your Tetras) I can do road walks or trail walks, whichever is preferred by the dog (or owner). I am happy to take favourite toys for playing and treats for teaching tricks if you wish. For drop-ins I am happy to play with whatever toys are available for both cats and dogs as well any other checks required for your other animals. I can provide my own mentally stimulating toys such as kongs, kibble balls and rug toys too.

Rhian was absolutely brilliant! She arrived on time, kept the house spotless, and gave Happy so much love and attention❤️ I really appreciated the regular updates – it gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and will definitely be booking with her again. Highly recommended!

Rhian looked after our pup Remco and our cat Mocha during our wedding. We are soooo incredibly grateful. Rhian is such a lovely person and helped to keep our dog calm in a very busy environment and made sure he was ready and smart for photos (thank you ☺️). She has such a wonderful way with animals and cares so much. She was super respectful of our home overnight too. Thank you Rhian, it was so great not to have to worry at all!

Honey loves Rhian. She is excellent and so reliable. I would recommend Rhian to anyone looking for a petsitter. She clearly loves animals and I will definitely be asking Rhian to sit for Honey again.
