To give your pet the best care possible, I like to know their daily routine, feeding schedule, medication needs (if any), and any quirks or preferences—like favorite toys, walking habits, or things that cause stress. I also ask about their social comfort with other animals or people, any medical conditions, and how they typically behave when you’re away. The more I know, the better I can keep their environment consistent, calm, and comforting.
A typical day
Each day is centered around your pet’s routine. I start with a morning feeding, potty break or walk, and some one-on-one attention—whether that’s playtime, brushing, or just gentle companionship. During the day, I keep your pets company or come and go based on their needs and your preferences. I provide regular updates, photos, and check-ins so you always feel connected. In the evening, I follow your wind-down routine with feeding, another walk or potty break, and quiet time. I treat your home respectfully, water plants, bring in mail, and make sure everything stays clean, safe, and peaceful until you return.

Please call me Renee. I’m a seasonal worker who spends time in beautiful mountain towns like Taos, Bend, and Sun Valley. While I don’t currently have pets of my own, I’ve been caring for animals since childhood—dogs, cats, and more. With 40+ years of experience, I offer walking, drop-ins, overnight care, and medication support. I specialize in calm, loving attention tailored to each animal’s needs, whether playful, shy, senior, or energetic. Your pet’s comfort and safety always come first. A note about my partner: I often house sit with my partner, Martin, who is a fellow animal lover and is also on Rover. He is kind, quiet, and respectful of others’ space. When he joins me, it’s simply as a supportive presence and never changes the rate or quality of care your pets receive. I always check first to make sure this is okay with you. Please note that for Winter in Sun Valley, Martin will only be joining me if it is on his day off.

Renee (Martha) and Martin were patient with my young cat, Jazz, while she took her time to warm up to them on their first stay with her. And, historically fearful of males (pre-rescue experiences, perhaps), Martin gave Jazz the space, time and understanding to get to know and trust him. I was so appreciative! It took almost a week-plus but by the end of the 15 day stay, she was snuggling and purring in his lap. Amazing! I’ll hope they’ll be available for future stays!
