I grew up in a multi Newfoundland household. For my mother, a big thing was making sure that I could handle all of them at a time if need be. She had me walking them since probably when I could walk. From then, the dogs I walk or sit for are normally a lot smaller, but a big dog still holds a big place in my heart. There's a special joy in teaching a new puppy how to walk nice on a leash and seeing their happiness on a nice walk. Seeing the senior dog be able to go outside and sniff the roses or dandelions as it may be is absolutely heartwarming. I am by no means an expert on special needs dogs, but I do not have a problem learning to work with your animal whatever it's needs are.
