Pet care fits very naturally into my routine. I’m currently a full-time student, which gives me a flexible schedule and the ability to plan my days around the pets in my care. I’m available most days and evenings, and I’m happy to accommodate overnight stays, drop-ins, or daytime care. If you need something specific, just reach out — I’m always willing to see if we can make it work!

Safety, trust & environment
Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. While I do not have a fenced-in yard, I have a large yard for leashed walks and supervised outdoor time. We also have a wonderful, quiet area right on my street that’s perfect for longer, structured walks. With my background as a veterinary technician, I’m very comfortable monitoring behavior, recognizing signs of stress or illness, and administering medications if needed. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or yours, I follow your routines closely to keep them feeling secure and at ease. While you’re away, your pet won’t just be “watched” — they’ll be cared for, exercised, and loved like part of the family. I truly aim to give them a safe, happy experience that feels like their own little vacation.

Information Renee D. would like to know about your pet
It’s very important for me to understand your dog’s normal routine, behavior, and preferences before care begins. The more I know, the better I can create a safe, comfortable experience for them. Please let me know about: - Daily routines and feeding schedules - Medications or medical conditions - Food allergies or sensitivities (including things like peanut butter) - Anxiety triggers or behavioral quirks - Crate comfort or sleeping preferences - Whether they’re allowed on furniture - Chewing habits (rocks, toys, household items, etc.) - Any toys or treats they should avoid Every dog is different, and I truly respect that. My goal is to keep their routine as consistent as possible so they feel secure and happy while you’re away. We’ll go over everything in detail to make sure both you and your pet feel completely comfortable.
A typical day
Enrichment is very important to me, no matter the dog’s age. A typical day includes structured walks, sniff time (because nothing beats nose-to-the-ground exploring somewhere new!), and plenty of mental stimulation. I love using lick mats, Kongs, sticky mats, and puzzle toys to keep dogs engaged and mentally satisfied. Mental exercise is just as important as physical exercise, especially for high-energy or anxious pups. Of course, there’s also downtime — belly rubs, cuddles, and lots of affection are always included. I try to balance activity and relaxation so your dog feels happy, fulfilled, and comfortable while you’re away.

Previous Veterinary Technician
Pet care experience
What sets me apart is my extensive background as a veterinary technician. I started in animal shelters and later worked in veterinary practices, caring for pets of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs. That experience gives me confidence handling everything from energetic puppies who need structure and reinforcement, to senior pets requiring medication, patience, and gentle care. I’ve fostered more animals than I can count, which has given me a strong understanding of behavior, transitions, and how to make pets feel safe and secure in new environments. Although I’ve recently changed careers and returned to school, I deeply miss being around animals. My own pets have crossed the rainbow bridge, and caring for others’ fur babies truly fills that space in my heart. Pet sitting isn’t just a side job for me — it’s something I genuinely love. I live in a loving, multi-generational home where pets truly become part of the family. There is almost always someone around, which means plenty of supervised attention, affection, and companionship throughout the day. Dogs staying with us receive lots of love, playtime, and, of course, belly rubs. They are never left feeling alone and are spoiled in the very best way — with structure, safety, and tons of positive interaction. My goal is to provide a warm, home-like environment where your pet feels comfortable, secure, and genuinely cared for.

Reviews

Another great stay with Renee. We can tell our dog feels loved and cared for and she makes us comfortable to leave her.

Renee took really good care of my dog. It was immediately clear that she has a wealth of experience and knowledge about dogs. It was great to know that my animal was in such good hands.

Very attentive and friendly. Seemed very caring about our dogs health needs and requirements.

Renee did great with Jax. I was very appreciative of her taking him last minute on Super Bowl Sunday so I could go to my daughter‘s indoor softball clinic. He loved getting all the attention since he’s a big baby. We’ll definitely use her again. Thank you!
