Dog-owning Artist

Hi! I have been pet sitting with my non-reactive pup Sylvie for a number of friend's cats and dogs since COVID (usually as a favor) in and out of the New England area. I work at an arts non-profit in PVD and can drive. I can pet-sit and do limited amounts of dog training.

House Sitting • Sep 01, 2026

Rena not only made Kobe feel comfortable in evenings where he was feeling the thunder scaries but she also had some of the best communication I have experienced from a sitter. Throughout all visits, I got updates and she always followed up on my requests. Thanks for taking good care of my sweet bubba!

Rena went above and beyond in caring for my pug Jackson. She followed all of our care instructions diligently and she and Jackson created a truly special bond. Additionally, she has great communication skills and sent us regular updates. I could not highly recommend Rena more as a responsible and loving caregiver. She has a unique bond and love for all animals and will take great care of any of your pet needs!

Rena is very engaged and focused on not only caring for but ensuring my dog had a great time while staying with her. From first introduction to regular updates and good communication, I was at ease knowing my dog was in great hands and having a blast.

Rena is such a kind and thoughtful pet caregiver. She’s walked and dog sat for my pup, Paprika, and every time paprika is excited to see her. Rena provides solid updates, is thorough in her care, and is so good with both pets and their people. I never have to worry about whether or not rika is unattended or having a bad time, as Rena has shown time and time again that she really cares and puts her heart in her work. Thanks Rena!

Rena is not only responsible, she is a true animal lover. She has not only cared for our dog, yet we are also aware of her care for other animals, as well. She is capable of taking dogs for walks responsibly, feeding according to a required schedule and manner, and medicating pets as needed. Rena takes pet care extremely seriously. Aside from caring for our dog, she has also flown around the country as a trusted person to do in-home pet care on-site, home visits, and care within her own home. She has a dog who is well-trained and extremely polite and well-cared-for herself. I cannot say enough about Rena's level of responsibility and care. I trust her with my dog implicitly. I never worry if she is caring for my dog when I am away because I know he will be cared for exactly how I would care for him: with love, affection, and according to my instructions for his feeding, toileting, and walks.

Schedule

Right now I work in a dog-friendly place 10 minutes from my home and my partner is working from home. We like going on hikes and to the dog parks. I would not bring a client's pet to my workplace, but a pet would always have someone with them at all times or at least not be left alone for more than a few hours at a time. I am most flexible on weekends and for overnight care.

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog
No children present
Dogs not allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 4-8 hours

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced yard, a crate, and multiple rooms in the home with pocket doors that can split a larger room into two if needed. We usually let pets have free range of home or section off the living room depending on the temperament and needs of the pet.

Pets

A typical day

If a dog prefers its own environment I like to do light training sessions in between breaks of working on my computer, or taking walks on a different route each time. If your dog likes going to new places, we can take my car to a different spot for variety (new neighborhood for walks, dog park, hiking, dropping into coffeeshops to sit outside and people watch with them, etc.) Happy to tailor an experience to a dog's personality and preferences.
