Rebekah can care for
Availability
I work nightshifts 3 nights a week on Sunday, Monday, & Thursday nights. So I am not available those nights. I get off of work between 7:30-8am and have to get home and take care of my pets first. So pet care & dog walking on my days off which are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, & Saturday would start around 9am and end around 10:30 am. I will be unavailable between 11am-5pm so I can sleep. I will not answer phone calls during this time so I can get some sleep. Then I can start back up pet care & dog walking at around 5:30pm to 7:45pm. I can provide late night check-in's and walks from around 10pm-12:30am for anyone else who works nightshifts and would need a late night check-in. The late night check-ins & walks will be priced a bit higher than the usual rate at $25 per visit/walk.
About Rebekah A.
Safety, trust & environment
I do not offer care for your pets in my own home; I only provide care for your pets in your own home. Due to having pets with medical special needs & some behavioral challenges in my own home, I do not allow other people's pets in my own home. Because of these reasons, I only offer pet care at your house for your pets safety and comfort, and for my pet's safety and comfort. If what you need is excellent care for a medically special or behaviorally challenging pet, I am more than happy to help you in your own home. I will always check to make sure your pet is safely secured before I leave your home so they cannot escape.
Information Rebekah A. would like to know about your pet
Because every animal is different and what works for one pet might not work for another pet: please let me know if your pet takes medications, what medications they take & why, and how you administer it to them and get them to take it. Please let me know if your pet has allergies and if they are allowed treats what treats they are allowed to have. Please let know if your pet is reactive or has food/toy based aggression, so I can keep your animal and other's safe. Please let me know if your pet is hiding and needs their meds how best to approach them and coax them out of hiding. I will never give up on an animal or punish an animal if they are being difficult in getting their meds, because they are usually behaving out of fear and not defiance. For both my own safety and your pet's safety, I will not walk your dog if they have handler-based reactive aggression. Handler-based reactive aggression means if they have been known to bite you (the owner), or anyone else who has walked your dog.

For Check-Ins I will make sure your pets have everything they need from water, to food, to mental and physical stimulation, and potty breaks/litter box scooping. For dog/cat Walks I will make sure they are enjoying it and monitor them for any signs of discomfort or heat related distress. I will not walk pets if it is too hot outside, instead I will provide indoor mental stimulation & exercise through play and smelling games with treats in the treats are allowed. I understand the importance of mental stimulation especially for intelligent and high energy breeds. Unfortunately I do not jog or run on my dog walks so if you need a high energy dog to be walked and to burn them out some. I am probably not the best person for you. I can offer longer walks for higher energy dogs but I still will not be doing jogs or running with them. For Check-Ins with Exotic Pets, I will make sure they have everything they need from water, to food, to monitoring and checking their heat/humidity and spraying down the enclosure if needed, to providing enrichment by handling or letting them safely explore if allowed.

Excellent medical & behavioral care
Pet care experience
I currently own two dogs, two cats, a gargoyle gecko, some mourning geckos, and freshwater fish. I have previously owned a corn snake, Degu, rats, and budgies. If what you need is expert care and check-in's on your pet's including medication administration and exotic animal care, &/or walking dogs including reactive dogs then I am the person for you. Don't hesitate to reach out to me and schedule a meet-and-greet for your animal. I am more than happy to provide them expert level care and understand that it is difficult to find someone willing to work with or has the knowledge on care for exotic pets or pets with behavioral challenges or medical needs. I even offer late night check-ins &/or walks from 10pm-12:30am for the nightshift workers who need it. Pricing slightly higher than average due to the higher quality more specialized care that I provide. Knowledge & Pet Care Skills for Your Dog/Cat including medication administration & behavioral challenges: I understand the importance of providing medication on time for pets with epilepsy due to having experience growing up with a dog who had epilepsy. I can administer epilepsy medication to your pet, including emergency medication if needed, and monitor the pet during & after the seizure. I have a special needs cat who has severe allergies and a mild eye condition and has had an ear infection in the past. So I know how to administer cats eye medication, ear medication, and oral medication. My other cat has an anxiety disorder that he takes anxiety meds for orally. He has actually asked me for his meds sometimes. He seems to actually get excited when I administer him his medicine sometimes; I think because he's realized that the medicine actually helps him. I know the importance of monitoring escape artist dogs closely due to owning both a Great Pyrenees Husky mix and a purebred Husky. Huskies are known to be as big of escape artists as Belgian Malinois dogs, if not properly trained or exercised and provided enough mental enrichment. I understand the importance of giving pets mental enrichment and not just physical exercise and attention, especially for intelligent high energy breeds. I do not walk dogs during hot weather, due to the risk of dogs developing heat stroke or burning their paw pads instead I provide indoor mental enrichment through food puzzles or smelling games and exercise through play indoors. I understand the importance of monitoring brachycephalic breeds such as pugs and french bulldogs for signs of heat distress or overexertion when they are playing or on a walk, and I understand their limited endurance due to this issue. I will not walk dogs who are over 70+ pounds if they pull excessively for safety reasons. I am willing to walk dogs of all sizes and even cats, but cannot walk dogs over 70 pounds if they pull excessively. If the dog does not pull and is over 70+ pounds then I will happily walk your dog for you. One of my dogs has mild food aggression and toy aggression only with other dogs if they approach and try to take her food/toy. So I understand the importance of providing distance or space if a dog has food/toy aggression with other animals and if it's severe to not have the toy/food around when another animal is hangout with them nearby; in order to prevent the risk of dogs fighting or attacking another animal. I also have experience feeding an extremely picky dog who is only just now at 19 months old finally getting an appetite after having been fixed at 18 months old. Exotic Small Animal, Reptile, Amphian, & Bird Care Knowledge: I know that reptiles and amphibians require a temperature gradient and humidity range in their enclosures to keep them healthy. I understand the importance of making sure reptiles enclosures especially snake enclosures are closed securely so that they do not escape. I know that Degus require sugar-free pellets and hay, and to never give them any sugary treats. I have a ton of knowledge in rabbit care and even cared for a special needs rabbit in high-school where I was trained under a veterinarian to provide the level of care he needed. Unfortunately I can no longer care for or own rabbits due to my allergies to pet rabbits worsening over the years. I have knowledge in how to care for small birds, such as budgies and I am willing to care for birds in size from finches to cockatiels. I used to own rats previously and have experience caring for them. Don't hesitate to reach out to me if you need an animal check-in for your exotic pet. I am more than happy to help and understand that it is hard to find someone who is knowledgeable or willing to care for your exotic pets.
