I am a mother of two children. Pets have always been a stress reliever for me. Being able to take a break from daily life and get some pet love is something I would happily do during the day. Depending on the dog size and how trained the dog is my 12 year old son loves to walk the dogs or take them to our rooftop to play fetch.

Safety, trust & environment

I treat all animals with love and respect as if they were our own pets. I have fostered a pit bull who was not good around other animals, so I would keep her on a short leash, be aware, and find routes around the city that would not trigger her. I am all about keeping communication open, as pets are family members in my eyes, and their routine, health, and diet matter.

Information Rebecca L. would like to know about your pet

Does your dog have any dietary restrictions? Is your dog used to city noise? Is your dog good with children? If so, does your dog have any worry or anxiety about the kids play-fighting or being picked up? We ask that last question because we will make sure the children know that these actions will not be allowed while your dog stays with us.

A typical day

Every day, our household is up around 7 a.m. Any dog staying with us is taken out between 7 and 8 a.m. for a 30-minute walk, unless there are limitations. Sometimes, if eggs are made for breakfast, we make the dog an egg, too. The next walk is around lunchtime, and the timing will depend on the weather and the day's schedule. The mid-afternoon walk is usually around 4 or 5 p.m. The last walk of the day is at 10 p.m., right before bed. During the school year, the afternoon walk is between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. During the spring (April to early June), any dog staying with us will experience little league games as long as they are non-reactive to other dogs. During the summer, we go on random outdoor adventures, and dogs are welcome to join. In the past, we have gone hiking or explored different city parks. We also have an A/C unit in the master bedroom to ensure dogs/kids have a cooling area. We can also be just as lazy as we are active. Especially on Sundays, you will find everyone in the household relaxing.

Pet care experience

First, I want to express that if my rate is too high for your income but you really want to book with me, still send a request and we can talk and find a middle ground that works. I only ask that the pay meets the demand. I am very flexible and understanding when it comes to income needs and vacations. We want you to enjoy your vacation and know your four-legged family member is also on vacation and well taken care of while not breaking the bank. With that said, I am the person people in a bind call when they need someone reliable to care for their pet while they are away. I have cared for regular animals, dogs who have fallen ill while their owners were on vacation and their usual sitter could not help. In addition, I have also fostered dogs long-term through the Goochy Project. My kids have started their own little pet care taking business for our neighbors in our apartment building. We love all animals, all breeds and we strive to go above and beyond to make sure they are also enjoying their vacation. Just tell me what your pet needs, and I will make sure it is done and treat them like my own.

Rebecca watched our dog while we were away for Spring break. Our dog had some difficulties adjusting and Rebecca was great at communicating and problem solving. We really appreciated her care and attention for Sunnie!

Rebecca was great with Pepper! She was very responsive and provided daily pictures for us. We felt confident in leaving Pepper with her and she absolutely followed all of our directions. She also handled all of Pepper’s behaviors super well. I would definitely book with her again (if she would have Pepper again)!
