Pet care experience

Experienced hands. Big heart. 🐶🐾

Because they’re not “just pets.” 🐾 I have two dogs of my own, Clayton, a 14-year-old Catahoula, and Mayday, a 13-year-old a little black “German Shepherd”. They’re family, so I understand how important it is to know they’re in good hands when you’re away. I was raised on a farm with horses, dogs, cats, and cows, so caring for animals has been part of my life from the beginning. I’ve cared for and trained animals of many ages, sizes, personalities, and ability levels, with a particular soft spot for seniors. I’m comfortable administering routine medications and injections and paying attention to the details that matter — changes in behavior, appetite, energy, mobility, or temperament. I understand that every animal has their own routine and individual needs. Whether you have a playful puppy, a dignified senior, or a nervous rescue, my goal is to provide calm, attentive care and make them feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I’ll care for your companion with the same patience, respect, and genuine affection I want for Clayton and Mayday. 🐾

Schedule

I work nearby Monday–Friday from 8–4:30, so I’m able to come home for lunch. Dogs in my care get at least two walks each day, plus supervised backyard time and plenty of attention. I often spend my lunch break on the patio with the dogs, giving them some company and a little midday break from the routine. On weekends, I’m home most of the day, so there’s plenty of time for additional walks, outdoor time, play, and one-on-one attention. I’ll follow your dog’s usual routine as closely as possible while making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet will enjoy a fenced backyard, close supervision, plenty of attention, and the company of my two friendly dogs. I’ll introduce pets carefully, provide separate spaces when needed, and prioritize everyone’s comfort and safety. I’ll follow your pet’s routine, including walks, meals, medications, rest, and special instructions. Medication can be given as directed, and care will be tailored to your pet’s personality and needs. A large crate is also available if needed. As a healthcare professional, I bring patience, calm, and careful attention to every pet’s well-being.

A typical day

Our day starts around 5:30 a.m. with supervised backyard time, breakfast, and a 30-minute morning walk before work. In the evenings, we walk to a large fenced area where the dogs can explore, sniff, play, and simply be dogs. Clayton loves checking the perimeter, while Mayday is usually focused on playing ball. I like to vary our routes and destinations so they can experience new sights and smells while maintaining a familiar routine. We even have regular Sunday walks where they get to see their neighborhood friends. When your dog stays with us, I’ll incorporate their normal routine while making sure they have plenty of exercise, enrichment, and downtime.

Please let me know about any special needs, routines, sensitivities, or behaviors I should be aware of before your dog arrives. The more I know, the better I can make their stay comfortable and safe. If your dog isn’t comfortable around other dogs, we have quieter walking routes with very little dog traffic, and our fenced backyard provides a great alternative for exercise and outdoor time. If you’re working on socialization, I’m also happy to reinforce your approach with calm, positive experiences while keeping your dog’s comfort and safety first.
