Pet care experience

"Professional" Pet Care Since 1996

I'm a retired, single, dog-mom and I've been a "Professional" Pet Care provider for over 30 years; I started my own petsitting business back in 1996. I was involved with local animal rescue and held various positions at Non-Profit Animal Welfare organizations here in Flagstaff. I'm a certified dog trainer and competed in the sport of Dog Agility for more than 12 years. Qualified multiple times for AKC National Agility Championships. I have experience giving medications, injections and IV fluids. I am Certified in Pet CPR and First Aid through Pet Tech. My only concern is that I'm keeping your dog happy, healthy and safe while in my care. My beautiful property is a few minutes from downtown Flagstaff and close to the Arizona Trail. A Flagstaff resident for over 34 years.

Rebecca is my #1 Go-To dogsitter in town. She’s truly fantastic, very knowledgeable and kind. I have a 14 year old very small chihuahua rescue who is often fearful of new people and gets bad separation anxiety, but every time I pick him up after staying with Rebecca he acts like he just had the best time ever. Her yard is great and my dog loves hanging out with her and her dogs. She has been available every time I’ve needed care, truly a lifesaver and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for care.

Rebecca is an amazing dog sitter who absolutely cares about the pups in her care. She has a great set up and home for boarding, and gives a lot of updates and pics. I was very comfortable leaving my dog with her, and when he came back it was clear he was well cared for!

The way Rebecca talked to me when I picked up my dog was unacceptable. Not only did she give me unsolicited advice about my dog’s health assuming I haven’t talked to an vet about it already. She was rude to me about being a 30-year-old woman traveling alone. She implied that I am in danger and cannot handle myself or my dog. I can handle a lot, but I cannot handle being disrespected in this way. I do not recommend boarding with Rebecca.

My older dog had a great time with R. And her own dogs. R. Clearly is very experienced and loves dogs. Her home and yard are very well set up to host dogs and we enjoyed the pics she sent.

Schedule

* I AM ONLY OPEN BETWEEN 10AM AND 9PM FOR DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP. * A current Bordetella vaccine is required. * I accept "Small Breed" Puppies only and Intact Males are allowed up to 9 months old. I don't accept Females in Heat. Dogs should come with their own beds and food. I'll supply all the love, exercise and socializing. My 2 dogs and I treat every dog that comes here, as part of our family. They have the freedom to go out through the dog door if they want to go outside or they can hang out on the sofa; whatever makes them happy, while under my supervision of course. Dog sitting is my full-time job, so I'm at home all the time. If I leave the house, it's for very short periods of time. I make sure the dogs are safely confined anytime I'm away from the house. I remodeled my house and put in landscaping for the safety of my dogs. I have a 6 ft. fence all around the property with railroad ties sunk into the ground at the bottom of the fence and there's concrete beneath every gate. All gates are locked from inside. There's a fence around the front porch before the doors into the house. The dogs have access to the dog run through dog doors and there's a gate that keeps them out of the backyard unless I'm home and able to monitor them. There's a gate that separates the dog room to the kitchen, so I can feed dogs separately. I do offer a bath and blow dry for those dogs that are under 15 pounds. A Bath is $25.

Safety, trust & environment

I have been a professional pet sitter since 1996 and a Dog Trainer since 2017. My dogs are my children and I would do anything to keep them safe and happy, I extend that same mind-set to every dog in my care. I accept 2-3 dogs at a time so I can easily keep track of every dog and give every dog plenty of 1 on 1 attention. I only offer dog boarding, no day-care, so the number of dogs here are limited for the safety and well being of all dogs.

Pets

A typical day

I have a wonderful dog friendly home, with a huge backyard that's all grass and a big shade tree to keep the dogs cool during the summer months. There are dog doors for full time access to the dog run. I have agility equipment for the dogs to climb on, balls, Frisbees and tug-toys for playtime; in the summer we pull out the doggie pool. I live on a cul-de-sac on McMillan Mesa with the urban trail just steps from my house and a few minutes from downtown Flagstaff. We take walks on the Arizona Trail daily. Dogs will sleep in the house, on their own beds or i can provide Dog beds. I do allow dogs to sleep with me on my bed. My hours for drop-off and pick-up are between 10am and 9pm only.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Unspayed females accepted, neutered males only
No females in heat
Rebecca can host up to 2 pets per night
I prefer to interview (meet and greet) with perspective clients first, but it's not required. I want to be sure we're a good match and I have all the information I'm going to need to provide you the best service possible and to make sure your pet would do well in my home. I do require dogs staying at my house to have a current Bordetella vaccine. I accept dogs that are well socialized and well behaved. Dogs that are timid, shy or elderly and don't want to be bothered by other dogs can have their own living quarters with a separate potty area. I do allow "Small Breed" puppies only, and male puppies that are intact, up to 9 mo. old. I don't accept dogs that have ever shown aggression or fearfulness.
