I have a fenced yard, and a friendly 3-year-old doggie to keep yours company. Mina is no longer crated, but I am comfortable crating your pup if they are.

Information Raquel & Greg & Gregory R. would like to know about your pet
Does your dog have any special needs or quirks or dislikes? Is your dog food protective? How does your dog behave on a leash? Can your dog eat all treats? Is your dog allowed in my car (we sometimes go hiking on weekends)? How long can your dog walk for? Your dog MUST get along with Mina. Mina will love your dog, but let's make sure the feeling is mutual with a meet-and-greet before finalizing the booking.
A typical day
In the mornings, Mina, our 3-year-old furbaby, will keep your doggie company while I write. They can go outside anytime they wish, and can hang out anywhere they wish. In winters, Mina prefers to find a sunny spot indoors to relax in, and in warmer weather, she likes to chase squirrels and sniff around in the fenced-in backyard. In winter afternoons, we'll take long walks. I have nice trails near my home, and we sometimes walk down to the lake or to a leash-free park. In summer afternoons, we'll hang in the backyard in the afternoons (we have a pool) and take long walks in the evenings instead. Evenings in the winters, we'll hang out inside, play and snuggle. Evenings in the summer, we'll hang outside after our walks (and play and snuggle). Our walks are anywhere from 5 - 10 kms, and our hikes are about 15 kms, but if your doggie can't handle that distance, I'm happy to split or shorten it if given the heads-up.

Pet care experience
Looking for boarding for you doggo? We've been proud dog pawrents for over 20 years, raising awesome furbabies from playful puppyhood to wise, old seniors—sometimes both stages at once! Two of our beloved dogs have been rescues, and bringing them home was no small feat. The process felt like adopting a human baby with detailed applications, reference checks, and even a home visit by an OPP officer. (We passed!) Once they joined our family, these rescues brought their own unique challenges and rewards, so we’re definitely experienced. Our first rescue, Sadie, was a spirited girl who flunked puppy classes, and kept us on our toes with her stubborn streak. In her later years, as she lost her hearing, she developed anxiety, and we adapted to meet her needs with patience and care. Our current rescue, Mina, is a well-behaved, timid sweetheart who is still learning to trust humans. She absolutely adores other dogs and is comfy following their lead, as she’s used to having an older dog show her the ropes. She loves dog parks, so she’s also used to a variety of ages, breeds, and temperaments. When it comes to boarding, we’re happy to follow your dog’s schedule or Mina’s, who’s a super flexible girl. If we’re on Mina’s time, potty breaks are whenever she asks, naps happen wherever and whenever she wants (usually somewhere sunny), and daily walks are a must. We typically go on 5 to 10 km walks, depending on the weather, choosing the warmest or coolest part of the day seasonally—afternoons during winter and evenings in the summer. Recently, we said goodbye to our first rescue, Sadie, a cherished 13-year-old who filled our home with love and joy. Her 3-year-old little sister, Mina, misses her deeply, and we've promised her that we’d find some new playmates to help heal her broken heart, and ours, too. Can’t wait to meet your furbaby!
Reviews

The best dog boarder. Our dog was on his own vacation with Raquel and her family. He swam in her pool, enjoyed hiking in the park and the companionship of the house dog, Mina. Our dog also enjoyed all the hugs and affection from the family especially, from her husband, Greg who cheered with our dog during the soccer, FIFA matches. Many photos were sent to me during the dog’s stay with Raquel for peace of mind that my dog was well looked after. Highly recommend this loving family.

This was the second time we left Nala with Raquel. Nala seemed to fit right in and looked to be a lot more playful with Mila this time around. We accidentally provided less food than required for the stay, Raquel graciously bought some more of her favorite food.

Baylee had a fantastic time with Mina, Raquel and family. She was so well taken care of she didn’t want to leave at pick up time! Raquel sent photos throughout Baylee’s stay so I always knew she was comfortable, safe and happy. This was a 10/10 experience and Baylee will be back for another stay in the future!

Raquel was amazing sitter for our dog Murphy! She kept us updated with many photos and videos throughout his stay. Lot’s a hikes to Bronte Creek, one of his favourite places. Murphy came home happy and got along well with their dog, Mina. I recommend Raquel and Greg to other dog owners, we’ll definitely book with her again.
