Upbeat, Trustworthy Animal-Lover
I've taken care of cats and dogs for friends for years, and since moving to NYC, I've also started doing it for extra income (and added critter snuggles, of course). As of my writing this, the last house- and pet-sitting assignment I took on was about a month ago: a week at a nice apartment in the Upper East Side, tending to a dog (Riley), a cat (Lola), a hamster (Dribble), and a couple of fish (whose names I forgot because, frankly, they didn't have much personality, tee hee). I work as a freelance translator, so I have a very flexible schedule and am able to work even while travelling or house-sitting, as long as I have my laptop. I've been getting pet-care assignments through word-of-mouth and through my roommate, a well established dog-walker who often asks me for help when she's overbooked. I welcome the opportunity to meet more two- and four-legged friends through Rover! I'm home most of the day each day at present, doing some work over the phone or Zoom. I try to avoid leaving any dog unsupervised in my apartment. My apartment is in an elevator building -- I live alone and my low-key lifestyle doesn't include drinking or smoking. You may think I'm boring, but it makes for a good place for a pup. 😅 When the weather's nice, I enjoy walks as exercise, so doggos who like long walks usually get what they want with me. Please let me know about any food sensitivities or allergies, because I do like to steam a sweet potato or chop up an apple for my canine pals.

In this instance, I'm only hanging out with critters at their own homes and taking them on walks, since I'm already staying with a couple of doggos elsewhere. :)

Rafael was amazing! Handsome had an awesome time while at his home in Brooklyn. We were a very last minute booking and Rafael went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. During Handsome’s stay he kept us update the whole time with pictures and videos, which we really LOVED! And made us feel super comfortable! He is such a calm, nice, loving person. We will 100% book him again. Handsome loved him
Rafael is fantastic—he took wonderful care of our beloved 12 year old Frenchie, sending lots of updates and pictures throughout. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Rafael was an amazing dog sitter! It was my first time away from my pup and he made sure to send me plenty of photos and info. He worked around her needs (being super fluffy in the heat) and took the best care of her. I’ll definitely continue working with Rafael!
